I Tried Making 9 Hills In ONLY 2 Days // Terrain For Warhammer

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hiya! I wanted to give myself a challenge in this one and see if it is possible to make a full table's worth of nice looking hills in a single weekend.
I'll be using them for playing Warhammer 40,000, but you can use of course use them for Kill Team, Age of Sigmar, Bolt Action or as terrain for any other tabletop wargame.

Now, since you can’t get the same products all around the world, the links will in some cases be my best guess to what the nearest equivalent is, so make sure to do your own research before buying, so you’re sure you’re getting the product you want. If I'm entirely unsure which product to recommend, I won't list one.
Thanks for your support! I'll make sure the dark gods of crafting hear of this. 😊

    I've always wondered how long do organic roots last in a diorama or terrain? Will they start molding and ruin the piece?

  • @thecultofcrafting

    @thecultofcrafting

    Жыл бұрын

    I doubt it. I collected those roots 4-5 years ago. Microorganisms are everywhere, but I believe they need moisture for things to start molding.

    Thanks for sharing! Please tell, why you add soap to the mixture?

  • @thecultofcrafting

    @thecultofcrafting

    The soap reduces surface tension, helping the mix soak into the flock and soil, instead of pooling on top of it. 🙂

    Depends on the glue. You want the mix as thick as it can, while still being thin enough to spray with a spray bottle. I just eyeball it, but I guess it's around 1 part glue to 8 parts water. You don't need much soap. A drop for the amount you saw me make on screen. I maybe add 5-10 drops for half a liter.

    Great Video! You're Danish right? What is that masonite called in Danish, and where did you buy it? Can't seem to find it in the likes of Jem & Fix or Bauhaus

  • @thecultofcrafting

    @thecultofcrafting

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks! I've always known it as "masonit", but it might be called "træfiberplade" or something like that. I got it from Jem & Fix at 20-25 kr. It's the cheapest thing I could find, but it's kinda 💩 to work with, because the edges tear when I cut into it. 3 mm MDF is easier to work with, but also costs quite a bit more.

    J'ai bien ton travail mais utile plus d'équipements de Protection Individuelle ! La sécurité n'a pas de prix et notre hobby ne doit rester que du fun, exemple gent masque et ventilation. Sinon super travail ! Il fait beau velux pourquoi consommer de la lumière derrière toi qui n'apporte rien. L'énergie est pressieuse économisons là.

    I prefer the voice over playing while your doing stuff instead of the royalty free music. As beautifull as you are we don't need another talking head on yt. It's just less engading for me this way becouse we first listen to you talk and then see you work, while earlier we had it at the same time and the video was half as long.

    I get what you mean. 🙂 I'm continuously playing around with the format to figure what works best, both for me and you guys. The problem is that the format I've been using so far can be quite limiting and is very time consuming. On most videos I end up spending more time on post-production than actually making the terrain, and to my mind it should be the other way around. Keep in mind that this was my first attempt at this format, so it should get better as I get more practiced and figure out how to use it properly. It might end with me going back to the original format, but for the time being I need to test better ways of doing things. 😊

    @@thecultofcrafting I gathered that you're experimenting thats why I tryied to give some feedback. If you prefer doing videos this way then it's your channel, do whatever. But I personaly fell in love with your videos mainly BECOUSE of the high production standard which for me masively improves the quality and every minut of editing shows. So, you heard my opinion do with it as you will :)
