Thank u for the idea… Will do the circular route in my next visit there… Climbed the peak that closest to Waterhead back in October 2017 (my phone gps labelled it as Clappersgate), which I mistakenly thought was Loughrigg Fell (from a simple drawn map given to me by one of the local there). The beautiful house that you mentioned was still under construction back then, if I can recall correctly. Made the climb to the actual Loughrigg Fell in March 2020, using Google Map this time around. Climbed ‘Clappersgate’ again in November 2022. Actually wanted to repeat Loughrigg Fell but it was raining heavily. Your video given me an idea what to do next. Just in case, always started from Waterhead as I love to stay at YHA hostel there. Thank you again from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This video is amazing! The Lake District is such a beautiful and serene place, and your hike through Loughrigg Fell captures its essence perfectly. The views from Loughrigg Terrace are simply breathtaking, and it's wonderful to see your furry friend Sam enjoying the walk as well. Thank you for taking us on this journey and showing us the best of what the Lake District has to offer. I can't wait to plan my own hike and explore the area for myself!

Thank you for such kind words about the video. I agree that the Loughrigg Fell walk epitomises the Lake District perfectly. The flat walks by the waters edge, but also the fell walk to get the views - the camping, the wildlife, it's a cracker of a hike!

@@WhenAdventureKnox The only problem with that is it's so expensive, & second home owners & people who buy property's for holiday lets make it impossible for local born & bred to live in the lakes unless you pass on the home through generations, Cumbria & Cornwall have some of the poorest parts of the country.

Good job with the film. That part of the Lakes is great for families. Also I have to mention I’ve found the water in Rydal Water surprisingly warm in the past. I can see why it’s so popular for wild swimming because once you’re in it’s wonderful.

Now that you've pointed it out, it seems almost obvious how perfect for families that area is with the flat walking trails, lakes, cafes etc. I should have gone for a dip in Rydal if I'd known it was so warm! Next time eh as I realised we missed Rydal Cave so it's on my list to go back to!

It was a shock to the system when she said what she did as I hadn't expected it, but with hindsight, when it's a trail that's as well known as this one, crazy that she felt saying what she did was okay!!! Pleased Sam made for an enjoyable twist to the video! 🙏 Cheers

I'm afraid you're going to have to take responsibility for any uplift in tourism now - I hope you're proud of yourself 🤭. Enjoyable hike this one - quite different from how I expected the number one trail on the app would be but perhaps that's why I enjoyed it! The lakeside scene where Sam the dog turned into a chicken 😂 was very picturesque and the viewpoint where you had lunch was perfect. Great shot of the heron down by the stream 👍

🤣🤣🤣Incredibly proud! Lol! Initially I'd have thought the highest rated hikes would have been some of the epic ridge walks, but it seems to take into consideration the number of people who leave reviews too, so it seems to skew easier to medium hikes to be more highly rated, just because more people can do those. I LOVED the herons too!

Last part of my research loughrigg fell is hill in central part of English Lake District, stands on end of long ridge coming down from high raise over sliver how towards Ambeside , ad separate from neighbors by depression of red bank . Known for being one of easier main wright to hike in Lake District. Climbing loughrigg fell from grasmere is very popular one . Striaght forward climb . There are wonderful view over rydal water and grass mere lake . Fell on Windermere way circular wallc . Visit tranquil loughrigg where visitors can enjoy water side stroll , water side along river . Thank you for giving us chance to read learn new information improve our English language as well. Good luck to you your family friends.

I'd agree that it's one of the easier Wainwrights, but also the magical combination of easy, yet really big reward. I've hiked some fairly difficult Wainwrights where the reward of views and things we saw along the way didn't even come close to this one. The waterside walk was lovely at the end too with the herons and all the people out enjoying the water. Good luck to you and your family and friends too

How are you doing mrs Caroline thank you for sharing your trips with us. Honestly with every new Volg of your channel we learn new information, new vocabularies. Rydal water is old Norse word means valley where rye was grown up n between nab and scar . Loughrigg fell was formerly known as routhmere lake of river riothal which rus east wards from grasper on way to am side and Windermere. English Lake District owned by national trust . Only three quarters of mile wide . Tarn means small steep bank mountain lake or pool , synonyms body of water , basin , creek , inland sea , lagoon for example tarn lake tear, Adirondack mountains in Newyork. Tarn water is not good due to risk of human contamination.

I love the information you collect on the origins of words, I had no idea that Rydal, Loughrigg and Tarns originated from those terms. The poor water quality makes a lot of sense, I'd never drink out of one as they seem so stagnant!

I’m off to Ambleside in August, I’ll likely go on this walk with my family. If I spot a rather angry looking lady on the way, I’ll tell her you sent me! Wait until she finds out you now have four thousand subscribers and not two thousand. It’ll be like Piccadilly Circus up there! 😅

Well, we did the walk yesterday. The weather was lovely, not too many people around Loughrigg fell. Got past the tarn without any trouble (maybe the camouflage shorts made me difficult to spot). Our return to Ambleside took us past Rydal cave, which was pretty busy, folks were queuing up to get in there.

A questionable choice to mention Loughrigg Tarn for the first time and then immediately follow it with a landscape shot of Windermere! My immediate thought was: "I certainly don't remember Loughrigg Tarn being THAT big!)

Now you point it out, I can see this. It was just what the view was of around the point of choosing to up to the top, or down to the Tarn.
