My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

Fr! Before you could say that fast food was cheaper than stuff (especially healthier options) at the grocery store. But that all changed post-2020 so it's sincerely shocking that these people can afford to eat so much unhealthy food.

That is true and they eat huge pieces of food. We watched a young woman in the window as we stood in line waiting to go in. She had 3 large plate-size pancakes and she cut them in fourths and used her left hand to force that huge piece in her mouth. Everyone in line was commenting on how she was eating. She was probably close to 400 lbs. I don’t know how she kept from choking. She chewed maybe 3 or 4 times. Something is wrong with their thinking to not realize that the amount and speed of eating is why they are fat/obese.

Honestly, it's no excuse. I've read articles about people who found out they were psychopaths (I suppose there's levels), and while they may have been ruthless people, they could function and respect others. Even listened to a testimony of a man who was really awful and ended up in jail, but learned to become an appropriate member of society. He got married and has kids, and sounds like he is able to be a good father and husband. You can be responsible, while having issues. I guess I'm lucky not to have this issue myself, but it is possible not to act this way.

I was in the hospital due to a stroke. I'm nowhere near overweight and I'm not demanding. I never touched the call button the whole time I was in the hospital. Yet I had one nurse that was incredibly mean to me whenever she came into my room. I imagine she was used to patients like Steven and was sick of them. I guess she felt she could take her frustrations out on me. It was a horrible experience for me.

I had slipped down in my bed and had to be pulled back into place. Two nurses grabbed me under my arms and jerked me up. Needless the pain was unbearable and I did scream. No sorry nothing. I worked at a factory at the front gate there was a scale on the other side of the gate we weighed trucks coming and going for the product. One day a car pulled up the driver got out and asked how accurate the scales were I told him it was checked monthly.he asked me if he could weigh someone. Legally I said we can weigh the car but the person but he would have to come back without the person and we will find the difference for you.i couldn't take the chance of him falling while on the property. My first thought when they left I asked myself why on my shift hope he gets healthy

Dottie is another victim of being told her surgeries would be paid for by the producers to get her to go on the show, and then bailed on her leaving her with a massive debt afterwards. Dottie along with others sued the show to get her debt paid so we'll see if they'll disclose how much she got (if any) as request to dismiss her lawsuit was rejected. Dottie from her facebook appears allot smaller.

if THEY themselves don't make any kind of real effort to lose weight and change their behavior, it's on them, not the producers. it's called accountability, they can use whatever reason to say why they are the size they are, but they don't do a thing to work on themselves.

Maybe this can help someone else. I am not eating bread, and I walk as much as I can. I started eating oranges and for my carb craving, popcorn. Of course a healthy dinner and I stay as busy as possible. Good luck ladies. Don't give up.
