My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

I was 160 kg. About 2 years ago, doctors said that you should undergo a bypass. I used to consume two packs of cigarettes a day and 900 grams of sugar with tea. My liver was grade 3 to 4 and the size was 220 mm. Until I decided to lose weight, I had a treadmill that My room is getting dusty. On the first day, I was able to walk for 50 seconds, but I continued. Now my weight is 73 kg, and all my tests are normal, and my liver is normal

When you’re heavy and you fall it kills you, you can’t get up it’s more sore than an average person.. if you’ve never had your knees buckle underneath you it’s scary .. you don’t know what might happen
Exactly a year ago I was 150 kilo. I cut out sugar and walked every day. At first, I could only do 3000-4000 steps but now I walk 10.000 steps at least 6 days a week. Instead of feeling tired I now feel energized after a walk and I sleep much better. I gained 5 kilos in winter because with the snow and ice I walked less and I ate more + Christmas... But since the weather got better I lost the winter weight and I am now 117 kilo. Feeling so much better and I am still losing around 3 kilos a month. I eat more veggies, quit soda as well and I watch these shows for motivation. I noticed I used the same excuses as the main characters in this show. It is an eye opener to watch them.

Good for you! Imagine how good you will feel when you get to normal weight, that's going to be awesome. Not being sarcastic. If you are 117 kilo now which is still morbidly obese getting to a normal weight will feel awesome compared to now.
Since I was 12, I was 120 kg. I’ve found later down the line that the process of changing is a choice, you don’t go up 7 Jean sizes in a few years without bad eating habits, and being denial about it is a curse on the human soul, and everyone around you Now 19, 70 ish kilograms, and I’m happy that I’ve found my way in my body, and never want to be in that mindset again

It's truly a shame how negatively obesity impacts families and societies in general. It's one of the deadliest diseases/addictions in today's society and also the one that is easiest to overcome/treat. It puts a massive strain on society and the health care system and creates multiple compounded issues for the obese person and their family.
I've fallen and i cant get up one of the most famous lines
This show is a shinning example of how unfair life can truly be. To many viewers and kids. There are so many people out there who work many jobs to make money, but sometimes they’re short a few and never get a break. Then we have these people who do nothing, don’t work, and have no interest in getting a job, but have no money problems because their checks in the mail enable them to go out like 4 times a day. The we have the poor children. Instead of playing with them, taking any interest, or even being there for the kids, these people act like “You need to take care of me! I’m your parent. Drop what your doing and help me”!

I felt horrible when I was 166. My highest. I’d gained weight when I had a sedentary job. And even then people made comments. Since leaving that job I 2020 I’ve since gotten back down. But my point is it must feel just awful being so big. I’m happy for the people who’ve had success.
I feel blessed because I can't afford all the food they eat let alone the health expenses that follow 😅. But of course both being too rich and too poor can have serious consequences. Balance and moderation under all circumstances are the key. I know it's easier said than done.

I was about 110kg, for 1.80m, mostly because of my medicines, depression and I turned to food to eat my emotions and fibromyalgia pain. 3 months ago I started going out for groceries instead of deliveries, trying to walk a bit more each time. I lowered my cola consommation (from 3L to 1.5L), and I'm eating healthier food. I lost 20 kg already, and I feel better. I hope I'll reach 60kg, it would be good... My last blood check was awesome! @@sarah87472geez, idk either. I'm sure the show producers give them money to shop and order all the food they want. They earn an extra $2500. just for the shower/bedbath scenes.

Spouse does work. Hopefully she got better and spends the money on a nice bed instead of unhealthy food.

Well yes some spouses do work but but still that's a lot of money to feed somebody like that it's very selfish for someone person to eat like that. There's even episodes that they had to move in with family members because they cannot afford their food and take care of themselves. Like I said I'm not being cruel but my Lord how do they afford this food.
