What about the plan of Samsung to not going to update their devices after a specific age? Heard something about 2 years of age, where your device doesn't receive updates anymore. I like this tablet, but Samsungs policy makes me worry about it's usefulness in the future.

Just to point out, Samsung uses Wacom's technologies in their S Pen, so they're essentially the same technology

Great video, I think I need to get this to replace my old original Galaxy Tab Active from 2015. Heck, would you want to sell me your demo Tab Active2 that you used for this vid. Looks like it held up good, I can't wait to upgrade.

Was considering the Note 8 because of screen brightness and use in sunlight, what's this unit like outside in sunlight please all those who have it and use it in anger or not. Not interested in watching movies just data entry on forms or Docs on site out in all weathers.

very good in daylight as far as tablets go. As I previously posted I use it on sailboats for navigation in lots of reflective light situations at sea. works well.

That's only if it has the sticker on the back...

Is there a dedicated GPS chip? Will it receive GPS without assistance from cell towers? I think this is a nice medium between fragile consumer tablets and industrial badasses like Panasonic toughpads which are too expensive for me. My Moto G3 android phone functions very well as a navigation tool but it freezes up in the frigid temperatures of Mongolian winter. This tablet looks promising with it MIL spec cold weather rating.

yes gps and glonass. I use it without a network chip in airplane mode as it conserves battery for navigation on sailboats.

Hey Breck, what's this tablet like to use in the rain/wet snow? Are you concerned about the seal for the back cover? I had a Samsung Galxy S5 Active and i just didn't trust the seal on the back cover. We are comparing these Tab Acive 2's vs the 2017 Galaxy Tab A 8" with Otterbox Defender cases, the latter being less than half the cost. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
