Other options that can also be done is using a cotton swab or a Q-tip. Just make sure you wash it off after. What helped me was using it one to two minutes a day for seven days. Good luck and best of health! 😊

I tried everything including bleach. What finally worked for me was not wearing shoes when I could and changing my socks frequently, also wearing shoes that were very wide so my toes had room to move. It took about a year but it worked.

20 years ago, my friend lost half a finger in an accident. The tip of that finger slowly became dark blue then some parts were black (tissue necrosys). Doctor warned him that he may have to remove another chunk of finger. My friend began to let his hand soak in warm water + bleach + green palmolive (yes, the dish soap). Twice a day, many days. Necrosis doesn't heal. It can be removed but it's dead tissue that doesnt come back.

Vicks vapor rub works fast, and you don't need to rinse it off!!! I noticed a huge difference in 4 days!!!

After 4 days you dont see anything. Because it grows from the bottom and de nails from the feet are growing slowly. When you do something at youre nail... you need time till the whole nail is growing clean

I had one toenail affected by fungus and I applied tea tree oil every day 1-2 times a day. The damaged nail never recovered but every nanomillimeter of the new growth was healthy. It took about 6 months for the new nail to completely replace the old one, so there was a lot of committment involved. But for those who think they can't wait that long or they couldn't possibly be this consistent, trust me on this, seeing the healthy growth of a toenail you never thought you'd see pink again, was the strongest motivation ever.

I think that’s the point. The topical you put on the nail only kills the fungus so it does not continue on to affect the new nail growing in.

​@@ant-hw9os Not sure about the OP of this comment, but Im using a topical. Its applied 1 x daily at night. Directions say to apply to the top of the nail, sides, cuticle area and under the tip (front/end) of the nail. My Dr said the fungus is inside the nail itself btw. When given options for treatment, he said that for topicals they just file down some of the top of the nail bed, then apply the topical. This ensures the topical gets inside the nail itself. Not sure if there are any videos of this being done.

Makes sense to me. I've studied for my water distribution license, and a water plant near me uses 99 % liquid hypochlorite to disinfect the ground water before it comes through the pipes to your home. That stuff will kill ANYTHING that's a living organism, especially those that can kill you. Clorox has about 5-6% liquid hypochlorite, but is caustic to the skin (can burn you). If you're going to try this, do it like doc said, 50/50 blend,and no more than 2 minutes and THOROUGHLY RINSE IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS!! Be safe, not sorry EDIT: For those who want to use vinegar DO NOT USE REGULAR WHITE VINEGAR!! Especially by itself, it WILL burn your skin as badly as undiluted bleach. HERE'S THE PROPER RECIPE: 1 C. APPLE CIDER Vinegar 2 C. Warm Water Once mixed, add 2-3 Tbsp of baking soda Soak feet 15 minutes 1 to 2 times per day Recipe came straight from a Podiatrist

@anacolon1142 Doctor Mandell suggested at least one week with the 50/50 mixture of bleach (use a reputable one like Clorox) generics and store brands don't usually list the percentage of Hypochlorite, and it's usually minimal. As for the ACV,H2O,and baking soda, the podiatrist recommended around 2 weeks. Good luck and I hope at least one of those will do the trick for you 😉 Just have patience, it's not an overnight immediate fix. Take care 🙂

Trim back the nails and apply vicks vapor rub. You can do it before going to bed and put your socks on. You can apply a small amount on your toenails every day. It may take a week or two to see results but it's also relaxing if you enjoy the smell of eucalyptus like I do.

After suffering for 25 years of toenail fungus I tried the bleach method you spoke about, unfortunately I don't have time to do it everyday but I have managed to do it several times so far. My toenails and toes turned yellow orange the 1st time (only). Due to my lack of consistency the fungus has not completely cleared up(yet) however there has been massive improvements and toe nail cutting is much easier now. 8 of my toes were infected but only 2 are now. @@SamuelMonteiro16 I used straight bleach but only enough to cover my toes. I soaked for 3 minutes once a day. Immediately rinsed them off with soap and water and dried them. I had no adverse reaction.

I got rid of mine using Epsom Salts in a hydrotherapy tank. Turn on the turbine and point your toes into the jet of water. Trim back the unattached nail and clean out the dead skin under the nail. Do this once or twice a week. Lots of gyms have hydrotherapy tanks.

Vicks is helping me also. This after trying many other things including 2 scripts each of 2 different meds, I painted on my big toe every night. Bleach, tea tree oil, iodine, vinegar. I used these for months each!! I use Vicks twice a day. It's taken more than half of it away. I see lots of pink now. The infection isn't that dark yellow. It's light white. And lighter looking. I see my moon again. When my toe was aching so bad, I couldn't stand the shower water to touch it. That's when I started with Vicks. Less than an hour later my toe quit hurting. I knew Vicks was the answer!! Keep cutting your nail back as far as you can when you trim, PULL the debris out. Don't push it back down. Soak your clippers etc in bleach ALWAYS. I wish I would've tried Vicks first. Wasted so much time on the others. I'm going to use it for maintenance. Still don't know how I got this wicked fungal infection. NEVER had any kind of infection in my life before...

I tried it is indeed quite difficult to put your big toe in a shot glass for one to two minutes unless you have a chair in your shower. I tried doing it in a pale it was exceedingly uncomfortable. It also didn’t really seem to do anything for me. But I am prepared to try again.

You can also use white vinegar. One way is during the day, a cotton swab soaked in white vinegar and then take the thumb of a plastic glove and place over the toe.
