1/5000 Scale Star Destroyer
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I've always wanted to light a Star Destroyer. When Bandai released there version with a light kit I couldn't pass it up. However, I skipped out on their lights and used my own LEDs.

At first I was like " wait 1/5000 scale? That's tiny!" And then I remembered how big star destroyed were
Cool kit! I know it's yr old, but I'm still checking out your builds on your channel, Ben. Thanks for sharing!
I have this exact model in my living room... if you are a Star Wars nerd this is a must have.
Nice looking model by the way. Edit-the doggie is looking for more softness on the sofa!
When you mentioned that how this model looks like it could be a movie prop, well based on my understanding when bandai made a video of this model before it came out, they mentioned how they did some sort of photo/3d model scan on the actual movie prop (they probably do that on a lot of there kits hence why most of their star wars models are OT vehicles and not cgi vehicles like in the Prequels or sequels)
That looks awesome 😮😊the level of detail is incredible!!
Just amazing. Great job!
Sounds like you had a great time building. The family that models together stays together. 😁👍
Next on my list ! that looks real nice with the shades and panel colors, the detail looks amazing. Cheers 🇦🇺
Looks great! I built mine about a year ago. I didn't use the Bandai lighting kit, I used LED strips and got much better overall coverage at a fraction of the price. Wired into a small dimmer controller that plugs into a wall plug. No battery power. It's sitting on my desk at work and everyone loves looking at it!
Great paint job mate great build

Looks great. Love the lighting. Your puppy dog in the background looks cute. Anxiously waiting for the titanic.
Looks great Ben! Definitely gave me some inspiration once I start mine. Really like the custom base. I may have to take that idea and use it for mine. 👍
Very nice work
Thank you for posting
Looks great!!!
Looks great

I bought the little version of it. I’m gonna order some paint from Archive X and use it on that and the A-wings.
Needs some washes to make all that great detail pop, nice though!
Well beam me up Scottie!!!! I've a bad feeling about this!! Lol!!! Vader would be proud and James T Kirk would be jealous! Well done with the Easter egg! Looks great!
Beautiful, highly-detailed model Ben but it must have been a breath of fresh air after the last two years building the Missouri. No deck rails either.😁

Impressive. Obi Wan has taught you well.
Wow !
Cool star trek ship bro! Glad you took some time to build something for yourself without pressuring yourself to film it. Hope you're well!

Is there a sleeve over the box? I ask because on ebay, the box for the lighted version shows the ship from the rear.

No sleeve on my box.
Damn, that looks great! I picked this up when it came out, but haven't worked up the practice to try it yet. You say you used your own LEDs; can I ask what you used?

I recommend going on Amazon and getting 2.5mm (I think that’s the common size) bright white LEDs. And I feel like 330ohm resistors will give you the best compromise between them being “bright” and not the sun in your eyes. My power supply is 1.5amps.
I can’t wait for this bad boy to arrive !!! I got the lighting version is this the same ?
