1/144 Revell U boat VIIC 41 RC Conversion GREYHOUND Project ep 9

Is it because the ballast capacity is small? I failed to balance out. I'm going to try again by increasing the ballast capacity.

I share your pain. The closing scene is me after every failure on many projects!

It was the second time. Maybe we can succeed the third time. thank you

Your persistance is a credit to you. But if a boat comes up less on the second time it means it is leaking. And for boats this small the tiniest bubble can mess everything up. Perhaps test in a larger tank so you can shake the bubbles out without damaging the boat?

nooooo don't give up. Maybe instead of adding foam, add weights. I thing that it may not be stable because air is getting trapped under the acrylic cover, then it finds its way through a little hole or crack in the part without the acrylic cover and then gets trapped under the top of the submarine. If that happens, the air bubbles could slide from end to end, making the sub unbalanced. To stop that from happening maybe you can buy a little acrylic tube and make an actual watertight cylinder, to stop the air from moving around. I am also working on an rc submarine right now, it has been more than 4 months. But please do not give up. Love your channel, my favorite project that you did was the Akula 3d printed submarine.

Good works and nice Model! Your submarine tilts backwards and forwards when it goes down, not horizontally, simply because the cabin air is not fully vented. Your submarine hull is divided into two parts. You have the lower hull horizontal in the water, and after you add the upper hull, you need to balance the whole submarine. Because this is a small scale of the submarine, the deck of the drill hole if too small, then descend when the bubble is hard to drain out (want to consider the surface tension of water), don't go out bubble row, coupled with the submarine dive this is a dynamic process, so the small bubbles will converge to a big bubble, trapped below decks before or after the deck below. The solution to this problem is simple: either make the deck hole bigger, or not drill the deck at all and just drill a big hole on the top of the control tower to let the air out. I personally recommend this small submarine as a dynamically diving boat. The ballast system can use Snort Ballast system. The core components are a Vent Valve and an air pump, which is very simple and safe.

In other channel i see that they put weight low and foam up for stability. Maybe you have to lose some weight on the conning tower before increase de ballast capacity. I want to try this conversion to some day. Thank you for sharing. Don't give up you're almost there. Love your channel and rc conversions.

Yes. Air is being trapped under the deck. Need to add some more vent holes. Also, surface tension may be holding it back. Try applying some dishwashing soap or detergent to the underside of the deck to break the surface tension.

Do a video where you tie fishing weights to M-80’s and drop them in there like depth charges 😂. Show it you really mean business.

What if you use a small pump that would flush out the air bubbles in bow and stern. Could be triggered by the submerging procedure (like your bow truster just smaller scale) What could help too is to open the torpedo gates

Hi, I have a question. How or what product did you use to lock or seal the paint layers and the weathering effects, so they dont wash away when getting in contact with water?

Could you use a single motor with a dual drive gearbox for controlling 2 ballast syringe at the same time. Easier to find center buoyancy

I don't know but, probably the center of gravity changes when the washer of the syringe and air changes position?

I don't know either...First of all, we are going to change the ballast because it is clear that the ballast capacity is small.

@@tiver21 I have the idea to use a small lighter, like the Bic brand. So you can activate it with a servo and fill the ballast? Any way, Thanks for sharing
