Must be a common problem w/Tundras, just had to have mine replaced, Sadly I didn't have time to do it myself, ran about $1100 at dealership. but they also changed hoses & clamps. I wouldn't go through all this without changing those out too. Great Vid Brother.

Much easier than removing the fan assembly. Thank you. Job is complete. Highly recommend the swivel extension.

I don’t understand why anyone would give a thumbs down on this information. I just completed this job in about an hour and a half. Hood up to hood down. It would have been an hour except for having to fish those damn bolts out of the tiny spaces they dropped into. And why anyone would engineer a design with an access hole to retrieve these bolts with a washer to large to go through the hole???. Insanity. Regardless, what a great tip and it worked like a charm.

Thanks, great video. I knew that damn fan didn't need to come out as in other videos! 2009 Tundra, 257K miles (same color blue and same leak location on my rad!)

Thanks brother, really helped me! I have a 2008 Tundra with exactly the same mileage & same leak.

Just replaced mine, worked well. Recommend getting the swivel and a long extension.

Thank You! I just picked up an '08 and It looks like the original belt is on her. I figured I do the belt, pulleys and a new water pump, and this vid made my mind up to just do it with the rad out. I dread working in small spaces anymore!!! It looks as if mine has had a new rad installed...and the res and rad are low....

Water pump leaks are pretty common on these trucks. Glad the video made it easier for you!

Mine is leaking as well . Haven't noticed puddles but can see the residue and smell it.... would that leak cause it to overheat just at idle ?? Didn't think so but am I wrong

If it's very low on coolant or air locked it could definitely overheat just idling. You might want to take it to a mechanic you trust and have them take a closer look

someone had the wrong coolant in that truck. should be pink Asian formula. actually pretty important. I dont know what that orange juice looking shit was but that is not correct

AsTheWheelsTurn I know hey! I have no idea what it is but it’s been good down to -40 with no issue. It’s probably a mix of a few different coolants. I really should flush the system

I live in a climate that is much hotter than that so around here its not about freezing but more about not overheating/boiling over when its 118 degrees out. maybe whoever created that orange juice formula was on to something in the colder climate. but what I was TOLD as far as the pink coolant in concerned it has more to do with not corroding and blocking things up in a very touchy cooling system . so it may be a good idea just for the long term to put the right stuff in so you dont clog that new radiator up in a few years. my 07 tundra has 275,000 MILES on it and its still running like a brand new truck so you probably have MANY more miles to go with yours.

@@mudpuppy318 also, I have to thank you greatly for this video, I thought I had to remove the fan and shroud and that was completely unnecessary. I changed my radiator in about an hour after watching your video. the hardest part was the lower left bolt that holds it on, half of my time was spent on just that lol my tip for anyone reading this who is about to do this is have a good strong magnet on hand you can tape to the end of a screw driver because you will be needing it to get that bolt out of the frame rail when you take it out.
