@@ConnorRydland what screw driver did you use
I did this to my 09 Sierra. Screws would not stay tight. When wheel gets tilted up and down they will loosen back up. I put red locktite on my screws and they still backed out. You are correct on not over tightening the screws. The wheel will be way too tight. I don't know what proper torque should be on those. If didn't screw them down as tight as I could get them it would not take play the away. My next step i guess is to go to junkyard and find screws to replace mine with. The dealership can't get them. They want to sell the whole steering column for $800. The way to determine if it is your steering wheel and not front end related is to have a friend hold the lower steering shaft where it goes into the rack with vicegrips, then move the steering wheel left to right. If it moves at all then it is those screws. My dealership here is clueless about it and they are the best mechanics around that I know of. Nobody seems to know anything about it. This is the first video I've seen so far on it. Thanks so much for uploading it. It is very informative and accurate.

Yep very true! And this is the Eonon ga9480a I believe. They have a newer version now
How tight did you make it with obviously I don’t want to break the plastic underneath but did you feel like you could go more or was it pretty snug
@ConnorRydland
Жыл бұрын
Go until it’s snug, don’t torque it down. If you torque past that it will snap
What head unit do you have on that?
@ConnorRydland

Ramon Avendano Eonon GA9480A, the only head unit that looks factory and takes up the entire space. Great investment and it’s not crazy expensive!

Yes unless you actually have to replace steering parts
What is the proper torque size T 25 was too small and T 30 was too large

Eonon GA9480A, they have since updated it to the GA9480B. Plug and play unit, 10/10 would recommend especially for the price

2007-2013 Silverado 1500s use rack and pinion. The 2500s have pitman arm/steering box.
