Story I heard told by a ukranian juggle, trained in Moscow by the Kiss: Where did Alexander Kiss get his vision of juggling mechanics? How did he become such a precise teacher? (If juggling was Olympic, who trained the gold medal winners? Alexander and Violeta Kiss!) It seems that as a lad, from a circus family, on tour, during a period in which Rastelli- who was russian- was touring on the Russian circus circuit, they shared time on the same shows. Rastelli wouldn´t let anybody watch him train, but, as Alexander was just a kid, he would let him sit in a corner and watch as he rehearsed, and nurtured his interest in juggling. So it seems that his knowledge, his understanding of the alchemy of juggling mechanics, was acquired watching one of histories greatest jugglers. That a child was capable of interiorizing, understanding, systemitizing and eventually transmitting that knowledge is an incredible feat and says a lot about Kiss, but the primary source was none other than Enrico Rastelli.
