05FA14 Service weekend
Considering I was nominated to film 05FA14 being serviced, I was rubbish I only seemed to end up getting my hands dirty, so I'm afraid there isn't much video!

Sounding great! I miss my time on 432s. Two I remember were 12EA65 and 10EA29. Although one of them might have been a 436? Age getting the better of me now and most photos I have of me 'crewing' were taken in Canada on the petrol powered Mk1s of the early 1990s. 10EA29 was a literal "bag of spanners" when I got given it as my first drive after the course. It had a Ranger mine launcher on top, but within months it was gone for base overhaul, and I think the replacement was 12EA65. Then a later posting had me in Tidworth driving the OC's CV, a 436. Can't remember the reg number of that one. Good to see one in civilian ownership being looked after. Lots of 'em seem to be a bit battered and abused for passenger rides. I'd love one, but no space nor funds to look after one properly right now...
Consider it your audition!
It was drivers job to disconnect the prop for a lift in the field but REME had to put it back with new nuts, gear box neutral and a straight bar to turn it in situ, remember with a pack failure you cannot always turn the engine.
There not so great to drive when it`s pissing down with rain or it`s minus 10 like it used to get out in West Germany, there not much fun either when the sodding things used to break down an you finish up doing a pack lift on the side of the road with all the boxheads laughing at you.
