I would think LE is angry not with the public in general, but the ones in the public, media, those close to the case who have belittled, accused, bashed and talked down of them all this time while they were working their asses off around the clock. That's just an assumption though. I myself certainly have no psychic ability lol

I so agree! Maddie tells Adam (roommate of JD, as well as bartender at Corner Club) "everything.". Girls repeatedly call him and he "slept through it" Sure!! He lived around the corner, maybe a 3 minute walk. Hmmmm. Kaylee was clearly moving on, and he was not going to be a part of her future. Thus, "if I can't have you, no one can.". Horrific, personal murder - start at those closest and work out. Also, Kaylee's family is not stupid, they know he did it. Maybe not on day one, but they know now.
