Storms never cause accidents; drivers not slowing down and driving too fast for conditions, that causes accidents. Don't blame mother nature for what is driver stupidity.

After 12 years of living in Reno winters I decided last year to move south for warmer climate, looks like I made the right choice,. NO MORE COLD SNOWY WINTER FOR ME, EVER!

I love snowstorms--from the privacy of my own home. Hope everyone is safe! If you don't need to be on the road just don't do it!

The road looks clear to me. I've seen worse in an 18-wheeler. Though in Donner pass there, always be prepared, you never know when you might have to eat your own leg.

They always say that the " storm causes accidents " so the Insurance companies will pay out.

Most insurance calls it (1.)an act of Mother Nature

Drivers ALWAYS keep full tanks, food, water and winter gear. And, find a truck stop and hunker down. No load is worth it. Other drivers if you do not need to be out there, then stay put.

The Christian God is the True God and I am going to prove it right now: God has a Law called the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20). These Laws include do not lie, do not steal, don’t put others gods before Him (Exodus 20) Have you ever broken any of these Laws? Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever lusted after someone? If we really went over God’s Laws in the Bible, every single one of them, it can really expose how much of a sinner we truly are and because we have all committed these acts our punishment is Hell because God’s standard is perfection. Our good works cannot get us into Heaven. That’s like you steal a soda from the store but you tell the judge, “hey judge I give to the orphanage, I do community service.” The judge will not care about what you did. You stole something that was not yours so therefore the Judge is going to find you guilty. God is the same way. But, this Judge is a loving Judge who does not want to sentence you for your crimes. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to come and take the punishment for your sins and if you Repent of your sins and accept jesus Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior then you will be saved from the sentence. Jesus loves you and is not willing that any should perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16) God bless

That’s often true but the reality is sometimes you can suddenly come upon a weather front with ice Snow White outs etc.

@@nomorewar4189, and in that situation simply slowing down and driving for the conditions prevents these accidents. Ice, snow and other weather doesn’t just “pop up” without any warning. Clouds don’t instantly appear in clear skies. Even in quickly changing severe weather, slowing your ass down - or pulling off the road and stopping if necessary - will keep these from happening. These are 100% human, not weather, caused accidents.

And people complain about the light rain in Seattle all winter, yet most of the country looks like the inside of my freezer before I defrost it or is even colder. I'll take a temperate climate over the weather extremes.

No, it's not January is a huge snow month

I DON'T BLAME ANYONE IN THIS STATE FOR NOT USING WINTER TIRES BUT AS A MONTREALER I WOULD SUGGEST TO THE GOVERNOR HE/SHE CLOSE ALL HIGHWAYS FOR NEVER DRIVING IN SLIPPERY HIGHWAYS CAN BE VERY DEADLY TO ALL THOSE IN THIS STATE!!!

A snowstorm cannot cause accidents ice does not cause accidents rain does not cause accidents. An accident is something that happens beyond your control. Car wrecks that happened during these weather events is not caused by the weather. It is caused by poor drivers. Mostly too fast for conditions. Or they shouldn't be out there in the first place. End of story.

Why even be on the road in these storms? Truckers, I know it's our jobs but seriously, safety always comes first. And as for the 4 wheelers...what's so important that one must be on the road? Stay safe everyone..and warm. Good luck..
