Sparks Nevada Winter Storm Travel Hazard 11/10/2015

A very significant winter storm is winding down across western Nevada early Tuesday morning after dropping upwards of a foot of snow in areas only originally forecasted to see 2-4". Lake effect snows from Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake contributed to snowfall rates over 3-inches per hours at times. The heaviest snows moved out just before daybreak with only flurries and light snow showers in the Reno/Sparks areas by 6:30am.
National Weather Service Reno recorded 8 inches of snow in six hours with nearly 4" coming in a one-hour time (10p-11p Monday night) frame during the Tahoe lake effect band. Other areas in the Reno/Sparks vicinity recorded as much as a foot. The Reno airport set a daily record on Monday of 2.4" of snow, beating the previous 2.0" which stood for 100 years (since 1915).
This storm system will clear the region late Tuesday morning and take aim on the Colorado Front Range where blizzard warnings and winter storm warnings are in effect. From there, the storm system will create a mess of severe weather across the Midwest.

+Bat Cat Yes it is supposed to snow in Nevada. The Reno-Sparks area is in the Sierra Nevada mountains and the last time I was there (February 1986) it snowed. The Reno strip looks beautiful with snow coming down. Washington State or Washington DC?

Just curious while you are filming all these people having driving issues with winter weather. Do you make any effort to help or contact help on their behalf or just film people having issues
