If you are interested in traveling around Chennai even cheaper, try suburban electric trains. It may be crowded but it's much cheaper that the metro.

Bro bus pass mei hota hai, per metro pass mei ₹100 mei pura din nahi ghum sakte, jaha taak mujhe pta hai metro pass mei charge kam kat te hai like agar token 40 ka hai to card se 33-35 ke aas pass kat te hai per card mei recharge karwana padta hai jab card mei balance nahi hota

Chennai has the worst people out there. Back when i was in India, the moment they knew i am not Tamil or from TN, people never responded to me even though i was speaking in English. Forget about Hindi speaking people. As a tourist i don't think i need to learn their native language. Shame!!

The Chennai metro directly connects the city's main Railway station to the Airport. So people from other cities willing to take a flight can take a train to Chennai Central Station, and from there the Metro to Airport, without having to enter Chennai city.

Not only Airport & Central Railway Station, it also connects Asia's biggest Bus terminal Koyambet. It connects all three modes(Air,Bus and Rail) except Ports.

@Jon Snow People using flights will have just 2 luggage - one carry bag and one check-in bag, both having weight limits. People using train and bus would have heavier bags. As for which city, it will help people of nearby towns and cities like Vellore, Nellore etc. Trains are faster than Cabs.

Chennai metro is the second longest metro rail transport system in India after delhi metro.

In 2002 I lived in Singapore and thought it’s metro was awesome . Now india is catching up

Thank you for posting this, I kinda miss traveling in metro. I usually go from Meenambakkam metro to Koyambedu, the train changes course from blue to green line at Alandur. Now I’m stuck at home because of COVID.

The metro, on full completion of the appropriately 250 kms proposed length, would be a game changer for the city and become one of the best transportation networks in the world .I use the metro daily and it's been a really pleasurable experience for me .Friendly station officials too...Hope that the ridership skyrockets soon . The metro will be servicing a city with a population of approximately 20 million people in a decade from now

Why constriction is taking so long? Mumbai should compete head to head with its biggest rival i. e Delhi Even land acquisition for Bullet train in Maharashtra is going at tortoise speed!! I am from kolkata and extension of Metro here isn't at great speed either unfortunately!

Way to go. I wish bangalores metro was a little more complete. It will be great when it covers more of the city. Chennal looks like it's got some useful destinations like the airport and city center. New York's metro is not that bad, and is really great to get around the city as it goes most places and without it, it would be really difficult and expensive to get around. Personally I enjoy the vibe of the colorful characters on the metros. Moscow has a really beautiful metro, one of the most impressive in the world. I bet it's getting a little bit hot 🔥 in Chennai now so ac sounds great

@@Privateuser9999 why wou be so obnoxious as to do that. There are millions that ride the subway every day and don't end up dead. NYC is a mess when even one line goes down. If you want to see chaos, try the Delhi metro at rush hour. It can take 30 minutes to get into the station from the street. During covid, NYC metro was very quiet and they kept it cleaner than normal

Bangalore's population is way more than Chennai's so it's kinda weird that Chennai has a bigger and better metro service. Also what's more weird is that Mumbai which has the population more than Chennai's and Bangalore's combined doesn't have a metro even 1/3rd the size of Chennai's. (As on Jan 2021)

Some things never change. Chennai auto rickshaw driver charging Rs 150 for a short ride to the metro station and then wanting Rs 500 for the same ride in a metro that costs Rs 20 and with air-conditioning, in lesser time, no traffic / pollution / noise. Now it is not rocket science to figure which one is better and hope people will leave cars behind and take the metro. Hope such videos bring more metro commuters. Wish Namma Metro Bengaluru will complete lines faster and provide more connectivity (they started before other cities but lag far behind) and Chennai Metro is way cheaper. The auto rickshaw driver needs to earn a living too but only by charging reasonable fares (been a problem for a long, long time and only solution seems to be competition and not government or police, who have done little for commuters and public) and helping in last mile connectivity.

Chennai metro is not cheaper. It's one of the most expensive metros in the country. They charge 40 for 4 stations. 20 is for just 2 stations which is expensive compared to Indian standards.

Metro is the best way to travel and it's much more affordable than bus...Lookin forward for the phase 2 completion

Yep. When I was travelling in Hyderabad metro for the time. I hopped and starting looking outside until the next stop came, only women entered. I turned my head and every one is looking at me, then I realised!! I walked straight into normal section without lifting my head 😂😂

If you want to travel more and more in Chennai metro , Chennai metro have monthly pass ,I used to buy monthly pass ,which is more cheaper just around $25 for whole month

I love Chennai metro because it's connected to airport, which makes it special. Though Delhi metro is connected to airport but I think that's expensive. Last time I checked Chennai metro in 2018, there're two lines. I hope there are more lines now.

As a guy being in Chennai for more than 10 years. Metro is far more luxurious and cooler compared to the city..The city is clumsy. But I can guarantee people in the city is far cooler to hangout than the luxurious Metro stations. They are humble and friendly..

You are so underrated sir, if you are planning to visit Tamilnadu and its surroundings, you should definitely come to Puducherry, an old French colony and a small village called Arikamedu located about 5km from the city, the village dates back from 200 AD it was a main stop for Roman trading. And have food at Indian Coffee house, a very old restaurant opened by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. I hope you will come to Puducherry, my hometown. Love from a French citizen from Puducherry.
