Scott, I was there! At brands when you set the lap record. My and my grandad were sat right up by the fence on the pit straight. Will always remember that day with him forever, a very special memory.

I've barely started this video, but Heathrow to Brands is FAR!!! I already feel bad for Scott on the scooter in winter regardless of the outcome! Edit: ah the tube is allowed thank goodness!! Man this was such a great video! Loved Scott's commentary overtaking the cyclist, and such a close race at the end!!

With how close it was does really show how much better the scooter is. If Scott had a battery that could have handled the power/sport mode or whatever it was called then he'd have had it. Great video boys. Always loved this kind of stuff. Seeing as you guys sometimes model your stuff after Top Gear, any chance of a road trip in the future? Those were always the best stuff alongside the build challenges.

To be fair, this wasn't really an... Ideal... Scooter. I'd personally also go with a LiFe batteried one, they're a bit slower but the battery lasts more cycles and handles weather better. Speed itself isn't really the defining factor for one of these, and too much of it just makes you annoy everyone you're passing while reducing your margin of error.

Oh the car would still have been at the Shard if a bike was used and public transport not deliberately kneecapped with awful route choices.

Watching Scott nearly get run over by a lorry knowing full well there’s a cycle superhighway over the road is a uniquely infuriating experience

10:59 This is the first time I've heard of the full story of how Scott got the lap record for the indy circuit.

"We're not going to do it like Top Gear, which fakes it a little bit" *proceeds to double journey time by avoiding the motorway and going through central London, for no reason*

I just visited London for the first time in Oct. 2022, and can recognize just about every street, corner, and it gives a whole new appreciation for these challenges. It's like re-experiencing the trip and the old Top Gear races!!! My word is it so much better when you understand how not close these locations are.

There were some James May levels of blunders in terms of directions within that Ferrari. 🤣😂

I love how you said you thought the Top Gear ones looked fake (which I also believe), but Scott still sounded just as miserable as Richard Hammond when he did it on a bike.

Scott’s laugh as he overtakes the bike 😂

How this channel doesn't have millions of subscribers I will never know. The content is consistently entertaining and has a remarkably high production value. Keep up the good work and thanks for always giving your content so much effort!

I have the exact same scooter and I can confirm that in colder wheather you right thumb, which is the throttle thumb, will get a frost bite. I have driven it for 1,5+ years and I have got used to it but it's funny to see Scott experiencing the same things as I did when I first got my scooter.

I know why you look like top gear (except from obvious). You are so genuine and so british! I watch every episone with great pleasure, even tho it is copy of old format. Subaru and Crysler were absolutely amazing!

This is the problem with basically all European race tracks. They're all in the middle of nowhere, so it's a nightmare to get there if you don't have a car. Even if you can drive, since everyone else is driving there as well, you will be stuck in traffic for major events. Look at Paul Richard, the roads could barely handle the traffic caused by the French GP.

Yeah, Elizabeth line from Heathrow to Liverpool Street, get out the moorgate end, Northern line to London Bridge for the selfie, southeastern from there as he did. Would have spent about 20 mins on the scooter

I normally enjoy overdrive videos. Now that I'm drunk, I absolutely love them more than i can describe!

Man as a local to Brands Hatch it felt really weird when I suddenly started to recognise the roads and knew where you guys were!

Top Gear did this a while back (bicycle vs. car vs. boat vs. subway). And I think they proved the subway was faster than the others.

and you are not allowed to take them on a tube due to fire hazard. Buy the real reason why the are banned from public roads is due to income risk for tfl and government They can't figure it out how to tax them

@@greatoxcroft5692 Its weird because you can rent 500w scooters through the government scheme but most private ones are about 300w give or take. Personally I think they're great as long as people are responsible with them, same as bicycles.

Great video. Ferrari's a wildly impractical choice of car here - my car or any other normal street car would be better - but hey I can't fault you for taking the chance to drive a Ferrari. Plus, this makes for a way better video.

Never used an e scooter but Scott's experience is pretty much what I would expect. It might be worth trying the same thing with a folding ebike which is much faster and would definitely get him there.

Honestly the big things are not having gloves on and the fact that these cheap scooters use cheap, not very good cells for the battery... And also don't use LiFe ones, which would tolerate this cold weather much better, aka not running out of power en route.

There have to be several other similar challenges across London specifically for science. I know for a fact Top Gear didn't fake it in Russia, cause I actually flew across St. Petersburg in a Turbo Smart once, it really is light on traffic.

You should have given scott a good electric scooter or folding bike. These cheap ones really suck, they can not get up any hill without slowing down and are limited to 20 or 25kmh. (basically any bike will beat it)
