    Its great to see fisherman treating the fish so well, making sure that they return to the water in excellent condition. Some KZread creators carry on too much measuring and taking pictures while the fish are in distress by being out of the water after fighting for their life. My argument is try running a 100 mts then hold your breath. Anyway great fishing guys, keep the content coming, cheers.

    Wilson Fiahing bring them into Australia. Come stored in a nice roll up neoprene bag. I tend to use longer rods and prefer the 6'8" MH in baitcast. Will worn is advance they do have micro guides and split butts. I rate them, but the flavour of the month for travel rods at the moment here in the Territory are the Jabbers Range. Both the Bone and Jabbers gear are Singaporean companies.

    sage advice here, I run a Shimano Zodias 5'10 medium bait cast, the hollow short carbon butt, it has a nice matt finish that is grippy, has really good feel and is light so I can cast all day, worth a try if you haven't tried one before, I really like the action and your right the shorter rod works the lure better., I pair that with a curado DC 150HG

    Current is your issue more than voltage. The Yamaha 70hp only outputs 16A, the Redarc pulls 12A from your alternator (not your house battery) which only leaves 4 Amps to run everything else. Voltage would come into play if your wires are maybe too small. I would recommend changing to a smaller DCDC charger that also has an Ignition feed wire. I believe Victron may have a 10A model with Ignition detection. I understand that the Redarc needs a certain Voltage level to turn on, but the current issue is what keeps making the voltage drop below 13.3V or whatever the Redarc needs. Good luck with it all, must be frustrating when you can’t maintain charge in your batteries when travelling long distances up at Limmen Bight etc. love your videos👍

  • @darylgammon6860
    @darylgammon68602 ай бұрын

    Further to my last comment, HDS7 sounders draw 1.7A each. So with the 12A being drawn by the DCDC charger, and the 3.4A by your sounders, you have 0.6A to maintain charge to your house battery.

  • @thumburnfishing
    @thumburnfishing2 ай бұрын

    Thanks Daryl the red arc is the lowest voltage one they make it’s actually built for running in a trailer and can run off just 12 pin plug and that’s correct about the amps it’s a shame that Yamaha don’t up the charge output on the smaller outboards as more electronics are run off boats now that ever Thanks for watching

  • @thumburnfishing
    @thumburnfishing2 ай бұрын

    As I charge every night after fishing it’s fine for me but a system that can charge the second battery would just be nice to have in a 70 hp outboard to at least get a few days camping without taking a generator would be ideal Thanks for the great feedback these comments help a lot people with issues that don’t quite understand it all and why they encounter problems

    Have you checked the amps the 70 is putting out at different revs rather than reading the volts? I don't have a DCDC charger only the Blue Sea 7650 automatic charging relay. Just connects and disconnects to save the start battery. Its only as good as the amount of amps the rectifier will charge though. I suppose its the same as the Redarc...you can't make power from mid air, it has to have a source...a larger rectifier/alternator? You can have a larger capacity battery which will last longer but you still need to find amps from somewhere to put back in.

  • @thumburnfishing
    @thumburnfishing2 ай бұрын

    That’s the exact issue I was referring to so your using a vsr for the task that is my next move to see if vsr can supply the amps directly instead of a dcdc charger To be continued Thanks for the input and I’ll do some homework on the blue sea 7650

    I'm told my Yamaha F60 will output a maximum of 8 Amps of charge ( that's about 100Watts ) so that's why it cannot build a charge. And I'm trying to find out how much power my electronics uses.
