I just moved my tax code to the isle of man so my wife could go outside without me having to escort her around all day. Avoid the risk of having to pick her up from a police station on the way home for being outside without me.

Safety in the Emirates is tied to the immigration policy, everyone in Dubai is employed, if you are unemployed you can be swiftly deported. There are strict conditions on the way people arrive in Dubai and Doha etc, this is thus a way to limit criminality, poverty etc.

I've lived in the UAE and Dubai specifically for 19 years now. Ex London and Birmingham, am very happy and safe here, yes the summer gets warm, but I'd rather have the heat than the damp grey skies of the UK any time.

Nice video thanks. Keep in mind that with a USA based company you will need to be USA export compliant which means respecting all USA sanctions against many countries and companies / people that operate in those countries (e.g., China, Russia, Cuba, Iran, etc...) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_sanctions

He likes the 'fordwardness' of D compared to the staid Old World. But it's only the imported foreign science, petrodollars, industries & Talent from the old world that is making D so newly 'wonderful'! Left to themselves they'd still be living in mud houses & tents, herding goats & travelling on camels - not Supercars! But it's what you can get iow, isn't it..

Growth is good and all, and I understand people and places that fully dedicate themselves to that. However for me, there’s somethings that I care for obsessively and focus on but I don’t think a total obsession with growth is mentally healthy. It’s okay not to be perfect or the best.

I've been in Dubai for 8 years now. I used to love it, but the quality of the people coming lately is lower than before, and this impacts the overall feel and class of the place. Genuinely talented expats are getting priced out, and there just aren't as many financial incentives (other than zero income tax) as there were before, because most people don't need to be "convinced" to move here as much as they did previosuly. (Inventives for those wondering would be things like housing transport allowances and shareholdings, etc. which were commonly very high a few years ago). The pollution is also insane, partly because of the number of cars that have come, rising by about a million each year! Also, Dubai burns its landfills and has no sustainable way of getting rid of biowaste and garbage. So for 8 months of the year in "summer" the lack of wind to blow away nasty fumes means Dubai is consistently in the top 10 worst polluted cities in the world, with thousands of deaths caused by pollution each year, listed among other developing countries where you'd think Dubai should not belong. BUT, I'm still bloody here! That's because I agree Europe is in the past and slowly falling apart, so I'm in a total dilemma in terms of where to go.

You can't compare SG to HK , the biggest reason that you can't set up a company solely yourself in SG, you neee a local director. While in HK you can be the 100% owner of the company and you dont need t hire any locals for that, unless you want to make yourself a working visa.

  • @ruslankolotogin

China situation ? NSL law only benefits foreign companies who wants to invest into HK and mainland China. It gives business stability, same as it had before all the 2014 and 2019 protests. Look how much money Christie's, Sotheby's and Phillips are investing into HK after 2019 protests, especially after NSL. For those comapnies its totally opposite, they want to have a bigger impact on HK luxury auction house market. I live here for 13 years, and nothing has changed. Great place to be.
