Someone needs to post a video on putting a wrap on a stock painted body.
Now to just find a great outlet for getting this printed to vinyl. I’m pretty sure I have a local source. But just out of curiosity, what would you think a fair price would be?
Somewhere around $45-$60 is what we pay in the Northeast. Make sure to ask if they’re using laminator after printing, this will help prevent scratches on the actual printed part. Thanks for watching!
What software is this? Looks like a generic corel draw
inkscape.org it's an open source free vector based graphics program.
Thanks for the video. Been trying to figure this out for a few days now.
Glad I could help
Traxxas gives RC cars a bad name.
Sorry you feel that way, I enjoy their products. There is also alot of other amazing brands though. Love my Customworks Sprint
if i try to import the template it says, could not detect file format. tried to open as svg file format but this also failed.
Hey Ben - So the file downloads as a .Zip. Open that up and export the SVG file to your desktop or some other folder. Now use inkscape to open the file. If you were trying to open the SVG file while it was still in a zip file or you tried to open the zip file, you would get that error message.
awesome!! where can I get this template??
The link is in the description, it's at the bottom of the page on the Traxxas Slash Modified page. Cheers
@@OvalEdgeRC thanks bud!
Just a heads up.. Traxxas has just OFFICIALLY changed the name to Slash Modified...Not Slash Mudboss.
Oh interesting... thanks for the heads up!
there is a weight difference between the mud boss and the slash with lcg so if you want box stock then say so in rules the weight difference is close to 3/4 lb salvas style is lighter even if you use the very heavy edm traxxas body
I love this body maybe it’s because I live in the Midwest but that’s the body style we run on the dirt track out here
Hey Kyle, it’s not the style that we run here in the northeast. That’s ok though, I love the style as well and can tell you these are gonna catch on and be raced.
Do you run all three water break ins on full throttle?
No its like 20-30% throttle.
Awsum, great vid, thank u🏋♂️🏎
Why by Bryce motors very old school Ron brushless at all time
It was done as a spec car I don't know what everybody's getting so upset about run the darn thing as a spec class make spec rules and everybody will be be happy with it there's enough out there with everybody that runs these darn thing to go have fun I found one track that said that they would run them if they have enough but as a stock box car nothing wrong with that for all the naysayers and people that runs these cars you're just mad because you had to spend a lot of money and go by certain rules and mad about it roar racing that makes these rules go stick your finger up your butt not everybody has that kind of money
So, your the rule setter? 😂
Never claimed I was the rule setter, just trying to help out and provide some guidance. Cheers 🍻
Have mine ordered its here but cant pick it up yet i think we can buy them next wk. They look so good with good parts
I really like that Traxxas put the Extreme Heavy Duty components on this car. Shows that they're commited to releasing better products and not just selling subpar parts.
I like your ideas. The BL2 motors have expanded into more mudboss classes and IMO we need to start combining the classes more so we dont have 5 classes with 5 cars in each. With your ruleset and also add the ability to use either lcg or hcg chassis and open up the tires to include All legal tires available to all current classes (so all the tires people already own can still be used). Do we really need a 13.5 class now that we have the BL2? Wasnt the 13.5 class made to be able to run brushless and LCG chassis anyway? With the variations in the rules people can run what they already have and the new traxxas mudboss and allow some much needed upgrades to our older salvas mudbosses too if so desired.
I'm with you, less classes.. more drivers. We all want competitive racing and not participation trophies. I'm hoping race tracks start to adjust and we see a shift in our current hobby. What's fantastic about this car though... Traxxas has finally recognized the racing scene.
Out of the box….perhaps servo change only Not tough man We ruin these with too many allowances…OEM changes happen and we got a ton of years with version 1.
I agree with you, stock out of the box. However, I think rules still need to be in place to specify the parts allowed on the car. I'm sure there are people with LCG chassises and other spare parts that will want to run the class. So who cares if they want to run the ultra shocks instead of the GTR shocks, who cares if they want to use the classic transmission instead of the magnum. I think just defining some of these things opens the class up to more people, while still providing that "spec" class this car needs to be in. Thanks for watching!
@@OvalEdgeRC slippery slope man….this is how our slash class got absolutely ruined. Before you knew it the perceived thought of “necessary upgrades” caused people to walk away. Better ESCs, motors, etc…box stock man…this is the way (lol)
Great video and information. Thanks 👍
Thanks for watching!
In my opinion Traxxas should’ve put a late model body on it , short course late model classes are across the whole USA, I own JbodyRC, crate late model bodies are my biggest seller, I’ve sold in 40 states and Canada. Instead of trying to piggy back a “Mudboss “ class they could’ve created their own national class , Traxxas Crate Late Model. Either way this car has to be raced in its own class, it doesn’t fit within the rules of the mudboss classes.
Unfortunately its to late for traxxas to put a late model body on it and change the name. But IMO these will eventually be turned into alot of other classes just like the original slash was. Late Model included.
Who knows, if this product is successful. I could see them expanding the product line and releasing other bodies on the same car. Either way, I’m excited for the car. Thanks for watching!
They did it how they wanted to and I think it’s awesome! If people don’t like it that’s just the way it goes. Lol
Lets see how this pans out. I have 12 stock Slash new in the box brushed I bought on a wholesale deal. I give it a few years Ill be able to do the same with these.
Yeah I've got more slashes than I wish I did. An old track I raced at used to run a stock slash clash, so that was fun for my kiddo and I. However, they closed. Only so many mudbosses I need to build out of them. Thanks for watching!
Soon to be in it! Awesome video!! 😎👍
Thanks for the support 😀
Well, it's nice to see that you're not acting so pompous as you were the other day as I saw on part of your live stream event. My thoughts and comments to others were was have you never been to real races? They have many different classes for different abilities and and cost. I have quite a few RC cars but none of them are racing and I thought this might be a good way to get into it without having to spend $1,000 and I already have batteries and a charger and I think none of you are looking at it that way that some people have other type of RCs like Bashers and stuff but this is something that for a low cost you can raise and use the battery and charger that you already have. And I thought you owned a shop, you seemed like you were pretty narrow-minded and unwise in your actions and your words. If I was Traxxas I would have said screw you screw you and took away any of your rights to sell their stuff
I think you have me confused with another KZreadr, I haven’t done a live stream event. I totally agree with your perspective here.
Thanks for the info excellent content keep it up!!!💯
Thanks! Will do!
Aren't these being more for a new class for beginners that are just getting into racing and don't have the money to buy a slash truck then buy all the other parts to convert it over to a dirt track car?
I think this is just a more complete kit. Being $380 and still needing a battery and charger. I don’t think your saving any money. However, you are getting a car that has much higher quality components.
@@OvalEdgeRC I don't think there is a dirt oval track here for r/c racing, after seeing this come out I am tempted to clear off a small oval on my property around my small crawler course and get one to play around with.
Looks just like the full size IMCA mod and sport mod we run here on the west coast. I can see a lot of drivers getting these and having wraps done to match their full size cars.
Yeah I agree… maybe I’ll do a DIY video for people who want to make their own wrap.
Or do you mean not imca or wissota
waiting on salvas reply on rule change for the mudboss to equale the new mudboss
I don’t think Salvas will respond to the new car. If you follow Eric on Facebook you can see his position on the new car.
there is really no way to fix this, on one side people are saying salvas rules are in stone on the other the new mudboss is a evolved mudboss, thay can be ran together if people would quit all the bickering, we have already ran them with salvis mudboss, the new car has a clear advantages, to fix this both cars need to be eqal that means that salvis rules need changed if there going to be run in the same class, but then agin no one is wanting new classes, very simple, run the cars as if all parts from either car are speck, its not hard to figer out, in my opinion salvas rules do not match up with the new cars and the new cars do not match up with salvas rules, so make all rules and parts speck, then the race has the last say not traxxas or salvas
Thanks for watching!
Is there a brand on those foam tires?
Hey Kyle, those are JACO Prism foam tires.
What foam tires are you running on the slash
I love where your head is at with "I want to beat you at the driver level" that is a sense of sportsmanship that is rare these days. 👍
Thanks Spider, I really enjoy good racing and I don’t need to win all the time to understand accomplishment.
Is the water method your preferred way to clean them as well?
Hi Jeremy! no I spray them out with Lectra electronics cleaner. As I mentioned in my 12T video if the commutator is dirty use a dab of brasso and hand crank the motor until the grinding smoothes out. Then clean with electronics cleaner and reoil the bushings.
@OvalEdgeRC I'll be going to watch that video, ty! I did see you mention the electronics cleaner in your tool video after I asked this, lol. I'm jumping back into the hobby, trying to treat my traxxas bigfoot with the love it deserves. Thanks for the great videos!
If you got any questions feel free to shoot them over. I'm deep into RC racing at this point and live and breathe this stuff on a daily basis. @@jeremydonaher8338
@@OvalEdgeRC Awesome will do!
Will any block work mine starts at 20
Yes any block would work, just know the rules for your track if it has a ride height rule.
What voltage on the battery was you running
8.38 is the highest my punisher’s go up to
That has to be one of the coolest hobbies ever.
Yeah we're having a blast with it, you should try it. Not that expense to get into an entry level class :)
@@OvalEdgeRC I used to do it in the 90's. I had a Grasshopper Electric R/C Kit. I used to get the fastest motors and accessories etc. I had a blast with it.
Content is great. I am a new racer on dirt oval mudboss. How about exploring ride height changes.
I have a ride height / shock limiter / shock oil video in the works. I've filmed it twice and just not happy with the results. It's coming soon though. Thanks for the support!
I enjoy watching your videos!
Thanks Mynkaro, I appreciate the support. I’ll have another video out on Tuesday. I’m trying to post on Tuesdays and Fridays
