I really enjoyed this song. I'm so glad the Lord let me be born in the year of 1971. Because to me that's the good old music back then. I hate she passed away. What a wonderful female singer.

I love both version of this song. They are two wonderful sides of the same coin, with different seasonings. The original (demo) version has a different melody, giving it almost a Latin vibe. And Minnie and Richard are on background vocals with the hallowed effects. It gives a layered effect that sounds awesome. The breakdown on this adds a seductive flair. However, it sounds like 1978 when compared to the second version that was released on Lobe Lives Forever. The second version, recorded posthumously, gives a more dreamy and seductive vibe. Peabo Bryson laying down his parts of the song to create a duet was an excellent choice because at the time he was a hot ticket. His albums were selling big time and he was on a major tour with Roberta Flack. The both of them came in and added their stamp on the song to help smooth it out on the back end. It worked. That song is forever a classic. But also, that version is very much a bridge, a smooth transition into the 80s. But both versions are Ear Candy 🤗💜💫✨🔥🔥🔥🤌🏾

Still my favorite on this album. And I love this album. Now I need to listen to Minnie’s original version (Without Peabo and Roberta) again to compare notes. I need to listen for background vocals on that one. First, I can’t remember if there are any background vocals on the original version. Second, I want to see if they are exactly the same. If this version is different, I wonder if Roberta arranged them because it sounds like it a little, and yet it also keeps in with what Minnie’s background vocalists we’re doing on the Minnie album. Update: Ok, I listened to the original (demo) version from 1978-79. The background on that is Minnie and Richard. And they layered them which gives a nice effect. The whole song is a different arrangement from the 1980 version. It gives a Latin vibe. It’s nice. I love it. The 1980 Love Lives Forever version has a more dreamy and seductive arrangement. You hear more of an orchestra in this one than the other one. This is more of a hand dance/ballroom/steppers groove, whereas the original version is more of a Latin ballroom dance/hustle groove. The background vocals come in at the bridge. And sound like someone other than Minnie singing. But then she (and Roberta) join in when they sing the refrain. And then during the outro is when Roberta takes over and sings with Peabo. This version sounds a little more lush. It’s the orchestra, the use of the piano, strings, and the arrangement itself. But I love both versions. 🤗💜💫✨🔥🔥🔥🤌🏾

oon the evening breezes will start to blow Baby, grab your hat now 'cause here we go Ooh, I love the things you do And the way that I feel when I'm close to you I have dreamed so long, is it really so? Baby, grab your hat now 'cause here we go Off to wonderland, floating hand in hand Like in the movies Everyone can tell that I'm in love with you I never knew what love could do My heart begins to pound whenever you're around I'm never coming down, oh-oh no It's a quarter after two And there's no one around except me and you Well, it's times like this that I'm living for Shall we turn the lights down and lock the door? Baby, don't stop, don't you dare, no ooh Just a little bit more, we're almost there Any second now I'll explode Baby, grab your hat now 'cause here we go Off to wonderland, floating hand in hand Like in the movies Everyone can tell that I'm in love with you I never knew what love could do My heart begins to pound (my heart begins to pound) Whenever you're around (you, you) I'm never coming down, oh-oh no Oh-oh no, oh-oh no Ooh baby Never coming down Ooh baby, ooh baby Never coming down You are so beautiful to me I'm never coming down (never coming down) You satisfy yourself, oh, forever
