Super Mario Galaxy controls worse than Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64 DS?!? I am 100% not agreeing there. Super Mario Galaxy most likely has the best underwater controls out of all 3D water levels.
I recently played the Mario 3D collection, and Galaxy controls the best, hands down, out of all three games in the collection. Sunshine Mario takes off like a corvette every time you tap the joystick a millimeter. There's a reason one of the hardest shines to acquire involves just walking around a flying bird shaped platform picking up red coins. In Galaxy that wouldn't even be a challenge because Mario controls like a dream. Mario 64 is better than Sunshine, but the terrible camera makes it hard to line up jumps properly sometimes.

No indicators. Invisible blocks requiring a jump to be made at the proper angle. The real ones know this was the old days of Kaizo. I miss it. Everything is so calculated now, which is a fine thing in its own right, but I gotta say I prefer the good old days

Super Mario Galaxy does not control worse than Super Mario 64. I will say it's maybe not the best-controlling 3D Mario, either, but I don't think it controls bad. Except for Spring Mario.
