  The helmets are very thick hardened steel and theres lots of padding inside. Ive trained boxing for many years and i can tell you theres way more trauma from light/medium sparring than full force fighting in armor. Mainly cus your chin is protected and the helmet sits on your shoulders so the force mostly goes to your neck/shoulders or the helmet absorbs the impact entirely

  @kevinsonline first step is always find a local club near you and start practicing before you buy any armor. They'll give you the best advice on what type of armor and where to get quality pieces. And they often will have spare loner sets of armor you can try first to find out if this sport is right for you 👍

  @guilerms ive competed in boxing and trained muay thai for many years, and this is 10x safer than those. Mainly cus the 16lb helmet sits on your shoulders so the impact goes to your neck rather than your chin or your brain. Definitely taken more damage in light-medium sparring in boxing/muaythai. Long story short; the armor works

  @guilerms aslong as the armor fits well that shouldnt be a problem. Most common injuries are knees and ankles from bad falls from wrestling. Lots of torn acl's in this sport. Its not without its danger, but the head trauma is alot safer than boxing or mma

  Who else fought this was going to be Greatswords from the title? Whichever weapon, great fight! And very nice armour! I loved the grappling, it's an underrepresented but really big part of swordplay. Going to look into these fighters, thank you for pinning their youtube! I will ask, what ruleset do you use for Falchion or other HEMA? I've only done Kendo, so I'm not really familiar.

  This is Buhurt, medieval tournament fighting. This is the profight category No stabbing in allowed Points are awarded 1-3 based on how much impact was made with the strike Punches, kicks, headbutts, elbows etc are all allowed and score points Takedowns are legal and allow 10 seconds of "ground and pound" before the fighters are reset.   Yeah this boss is really hard, I had to power level just to beat him. You just gotta watch out for his kicks, he telegraphs them with his sword. If he sweeps the leg it’s a command grab that causes blood loss.
