When my dad was dying in 2011 i spent his last two weeks alive eith him in a nursing home, i wanted to tell him how much i appreciated all he did for me, and with tears in our eyes we had a long talk. I apologized for not being a good son at times and being what i thought was a disappointment to him. When we buried him we put his cell phone in his suit coat pocket because he could never finf it when we'd call him. Id call him just to hear his voicemail till the phone finally died. I miss you Dad 😢😢😢

My dad was just diagnosed with prostate cancer. He never liked doctors much so it’s metastasized into his pelvis. I’m sorry for the downer but I heard your song and even at 52y/o I cried like a baby. I sent it to him. He cried like a baby. He’s old school country. He has never been one to share his emotions. His love language has always been in his actions. Your song speaks volumes. He went never easy on me, but now I understand why, he wasn’t being tough on me because he was mean no, he was tough on me because he knew the world we live in is unjust and unfair, he had mercy on me, while knowing the world wouldn’t. I hope he’s proud to see how far I’ve come, seeing the father I have become. Seeing his boy, become a man. I miss you my old man.
