I’ve never voted in my life and I’m not gonna start now. Because I hate countries. And I hate peer pressure. Edit: 1: I should elaborate that I hate countries because they are just job placement programs for the politicians who invent them. I don't disagree with you, but the reality is we live in a country and voting is our one chance to try and make a difference. Peer pressure sucks too - do what you want to do. But sometimes hearing conflicting opinions can open your mind up to other options. Think about this - politicians LOVE a love voter turnout cos it means their power is less split up by votes for small parties. Want to piss politicians off? Vote for smaller parties and encourage your friends and family to do same thing - and at the same time you will be helping the smaller politiciaisn you vote for, who are probably a lot better than the ones in power :-)

I'm not sure the makers of this video really understand how U.S voting works. We are not a direct democracy. Votes are totaled by county and are winner takes all. Then counties are totaled by state and in most states winner takes all. only then are the state delegates counted for the purpose of the primary election. Due to gerrymandering and voting district redrawing I would realistically expect 60-80% of votes to genuinely not matter as far as the outcomes of presidential elections go.

My point is - would you rather have total darkness 2-3 times a day, or would you rather TRY to get everyone to work together to TRY and reduce the amount of loadshedding we have to suffer? I've been going to the service dining rooms for the past two years (2021-2022) since I've found myself homeless due to lockdown... Honestly the food isn't nearly as "nutritious" as they would like to make it out to be, for the most part it's rice and gravy. Sometimes they prepare rice and pasta together with sauce over. Never any vegetables or meat! Karin and her staff treat the homeless like garbage, shouting and scolding and even with holding food on several occasions or refusing to serve certain individuals who don't tolerate their rudeness. Once you do receive your food, you must sit on the side of the road and it! No dignity involved there. The past two months since writing this, they even charge the homeless a R2 fee p/meal. If you don't have you don't eat. R2 may sound like nothing, but when you have NOTHING R2 is ALOT. and not always so easy to obtain especially on the daily! I don't go there anymore for meals because firstly the food isn't even worth the effort and because of their continued I'll treatment of those in need! We are still human beings. Please treat us with some dignity and kindness. 🙏🏻

He is very good, in terms of some of his views on education, but very arrogant in the way he comes across. He was assigned as a mediator in a crises at Dut in the early 2000s I was part of the staff at time when he addressed us in a meeting. I was disturbed by his very unprofessional manner when he confronted a fellow staff member by literally shouting at him for seeking classification on an issue discussed. The comments below seem to indicate otherwise.

I'm not sure the makers of this video really understand how U.S voting works. We are not a direct democracy. Votes are totaled by county and are winner takes all. Then counties are totaled by state and in most states winner takes all. only then are the state delegates counted for the purpose of the primary election. Due to gerrymandering and voting district redrawing I would realistically expect 60-80% of votes to genuinely not matter as far as the outcomes of presidential elections go.

If a big app or a municipality did a trial run to show people what the benefit could be… that might get people to get on board once they realise the benefits. So… I'm not holding my breath but I going to keep sowing the seeds to see if anything can sprout :-)

Industry, schools, govt etc also have to be involved in this, obviously. If it's mostly industry then why do we have loadshedding through the night? My point is - would you rather have total darkness 2-3 times a day, or would you rather TRY to get everyone to work together to TRY and reduce the amount of loadshedding we have to suffer? Seems to me that South Africans love to complain without doing anything about the situation.
I believe someone is missing the point. Under the bridge or under a hedge, in a tunnel is the same thing. When you enhance and reinforce where they are squatting, they will remain there, much to the annoyance of local residents and businesses.

I've been going to the service dining rooms for the past two years (2021-2022) since I've found myself homeless due to lockdown... Honestly the food isn't nearly as "nutritious" as they would like to make it out to be, for the most part it's rice and gravy. Sometimes they prepare rice and pasta together with sauce over. Never any vegetables or meat! Karin and her staff treat the homeless like garbage, shouting and scolding and even with holding food on several occasions or refusing to serve certain individuals who don't tolerate their rudeness. Once you do receive your food, you must sit on the side of the road and it! No dignity involved there. The past two months since writing this, they even charge the homeless a R2 fee p/meal. If you don't have you don't eat. R2 may sound like nothing, but when you have NOTHING R2 is ALOT. and not always so easy to obtain especially on the daily! I don't go there anymore for meals because firstly the food isn't even worth the effort and because of their continued I'll treatment of those in need! We are still human beings. Please treat us with some dignity and kindness. 🙏🏻

He is very good, in terms of some of his views on education, but very arrogant in the way he comes across. He was assigned as a mediator in a crises at Dut in the early 2000s I was part of the staff at time when he addressed us in a meeting. I was disturbed by his very unprofessional manner when he confronted a fellow staff member by literally shouting at him for seeking classification on an issue discussed. The comments below seem to indicate otherwise.
Ya, for me he is too forward. I like people who are honest and speak the truth but he is just too straightward. I understand he is attempting to changes mindsets but it will not work they way he does it.
