    He’s used a Stud Buddy to locate a (vertical) stud, gone horizontally across the stud to (another slot) directly below the (new) socket outlet location and then come up vertically. Or, if the new outlet is close up to the stud he’s just passed over, he’ll be in the permitted zone anyway. There’s no way this guy has gone diagonal with that cable. Watch his other vids. He’s always, always compliant.

    Got a question mate. With the regs saying you can only go up, down, left or right of a socket with the cable (zones). What allows for you pulling the cable diagonally up to that socket? Thanks

    Check out BS7671 and it comes with pictures and measurements of how and where you should be pulling and placing wires. Dont listen the other comment and be a cowboy pulling them diagonally or in wrong zones, makes your job easier next time you work on it or the next person. Also if customer decides to hang a picture he wont drill through a wire randomly placed in the wall where it shouldn't be.

    Domestic “electricians” shouldnt even be allowed to be called an electrician, glorified labourers IMO. No containment and the biggest cable you see is a 16mm double insulated cable. Pathetic

    Dunno ehy, but this reminds me in my motor control class when we had to set up a dully wited station, and by the next weekend, our professor would take some wire, cut them to where they werent stripped, and put them back in. We had to fix these "gremlins" as he called them, by finding thf mistakes with an ampimeter and restripping the wires. I didnt know we had to use the meter thing, and i just found all the wires in five minutes, fixing them easily. My instructor was disappointed but gave full marks, said the point of the lesson was the learn how to use the ampimeter, and i had completely gone around it.

    I like Wago blocks on low current lighting fixtures but still use wire nuts on outlets. Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical tape a couple of times around the levers on the Wago blocks.

  • @Flying.Dutchm4n
    @Flying.Dutchm4n5 күн бұрын

    Totally destroying the purpose of the wago, quick in and quick out.. If you tape it, tape it only on the top, so you can check the depth of the wire through the transparent plastic cover

    Fischer UX universal plugs work well on most substrates including plasterboard. These ones are good if you want to make absolutely sure it will work first time and well. Always use Fischer though Rawlplug with the setting tool also work well
