I love old things being restored, I prefer gravel roads to tarmac, and fixing things makes me happy. I aim to learn more about the things I love and hopefully you enjoy the videos.

    looks ace!! i have to admit i did my wheels with a really thick almost tar like black paint and brush :O i didn't do half as much sanding prep as you here AND i used playing cards! hahaha safe to say they aren't the best but as its more of an off-road play toy they are mostly covered in mud :) and my chassis sadly just isn't worth looking at i thought id get away with welding here and there but looking at it the other day i really do think its a new chassis but i just can't do that it would have to go to my local guy so its a huge expense but i guess once its done it should outlast me so there is that :I great video thank you

    Thank you mate! I’d actually like to build a rough 4x4 play toy as well. Sucks about the chassis, it’s so frustrating how these cars rot.

  • @DaleReubin

    Hi Stephen, I don't really post on YT about my photography. I used to post to Instagram quite a bit but I lost interest after not being able to grow on that platform. I have a website but it's under construction at the moment. I don't get work from posting on social media so I've not seen a need to have that extra pressure.

    Wheel spacers wreck your wheel bearings!!!

  • @DaleReubin
    @DaleReubin3 күн бұрын

    I’ve heard this as well, I suppose the leverage on the bearing increases the further out the wheel sits. Then I guess deep dish wheels would do the same?

    Love this man. I have a 300tdi 130 truck and just added an Alu Cab on it, and boy is she struggling with all the added weight. Looking at ways to increase power so I’m thinking of this and some other things like performance intercooler. Great vid and thanks! Cheers from Texas USA!

  • @DaleReubin
    @DaleReubin7 күн бұрын

    Thanks for the comment. Those Alu Cabs are sweet! I've since found out a few things on tuning the stock 300tdi without having to buy extra parts. You can just rotate your original boost pin so the aggressive angle faces forward and you can change the preload on the star wheel which sits below the boost pin spring. There are some other tricks I've found - maybe a whole new video. Anyway, thanks for watching and I hope you get it sorted and enjoy your 130 out in the wilds somewhere!

    I lived in London for six years, many years back... The first two years was like "a magical mystical toor". The Art the music it was all good but i was dying inside. Been back in S.A 20ish years, a business owner earning Rands and a single mom. Things is not harder just much slower and slower means more time with my boy. African time is a real thing... The pace took a whole while to get use too and the stairing we all look each other in the eye, in our day to day passing. In London i did the eye looking out of habit thing and some chavs sitting on a wall, got rowdy asking " you looking at me like you know me" hahaha i know your mother. Nice channel... this was such a flashback, thank you. O yes, I was born and bred in Mpumalanga

After visiting them a few times, we decided to buy a beautiful retirement/holiday house in South Africa. We absolutely love South Africa and our aim is to retire there when we finish our teaching career.

    Hardly anything to compare. It's way better in SA. It's awful here, it's scary there. BUT 👀 To compare quality of homes doesn't compare, most aren't built well, they fabricated and mostly ugly. The lifestyle, the people, the food, the life style is magnificent. The greatest shame is COST, you pay and pay and pay. In fact it's all about money that's the burden in Britain.

    The comments under this video got me. I am a Jamaican who lives in Jamaica and is searching for somewhere to vacation for a month in the next 12 months. South Africa and Namibia are at the top of my list as I enjoy photography when am not working. YT algorithms pushed me this video and the comments are out of this world. The same minuses about SA exist for JAM, and to a large extent, the same pluses. Everyone who can afford to want to vacation in Jamaica but many are also afraid of the crime while the locals who are not highly skilled or with money leave to the US, UK if they can get a visa. Mankind will continue to be migratory and constantly in search of what they believe is best for themselves or family. In the meanwhile, there needs to be a space to enjoy some of what life has to offer if you can afford to or choose to afford to. I will one day visit SA to soak up the amazing culture, geography, and of course visit some of the rough places where visitors avoid. Keep the comments coming!

    lol at all these rubberised underseal products... they are BAD for your chassis because they are rubberised and water proof when moisture gets behind (and it will) even if it is just condensation.. there is nowhere for the moisture to evaporate so it sits behind and rots from behind and you cannot see it because of the coating, better to do what my grandfather used to do and spray old engine oil underneath let it drip dry and repeat everytime you do and oil change...

Even so, my point remains, notwithstanding, UK cannot be even closely compared to the nonsense present day SAfrican taxpayers have to put up with.

    You're a brave man Dale, Africa is an amazing wild Continent, but multiculturalism doesn't work in reality. Every day in Europe we see that and the massacre of white farmers in SA and Zimbabwe shows it , we need to work to improve our homelands where we are. There's a lot that's bad in Europe right now, but with faith and time we can become civilised again, and visit other continents rather than colonise them ( meaning colonising of Europe not other way round ).
