Thank you kind sir! Helped me make a great decision (got the smaller version)
You’re quite welcome! Enjoy it 🎒
Thanks for the insightful video, this was exactly what I needed! I have the Pro and it's the best camera backpack I've ever used, but it's also very big for daypack use. You convinced me to get the standard, I'll decide later if I'll keep both.
You’re welcome! I’m pretty sure you will like the slimmer profile to use as a daypack.
Thank you for this vid. Very helpful. Will be going with the standard model
You’re welcome and thank you for taking the time to comment.
Very helpful video! I liked simplicity and attention to user. Thank you
Thank you. It’s good to hear that it helped!
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Great comparison. I was looking for this video.
I’m happy you found it 🙂
Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Thank you for showing the interior dimensions with the tape measure. I wanted to verify which one could hold a mirrorless camera body with a vertical grip attached. Looks like the Pro works better for my situation.
You're welcome; happy to have helped you decide.
I wish there was a way to remove the divider separating top and bottom..😢
Great comparison video & explains to Pro verses STD differences extremely well, thank you for the time & effort to do this video, its appreciated.
You’re very welcome. Knowing that it is appreciated makes it well worth the effort.
Thank you so much for this video, it is just what I needed to see. I just ordered the pro, but am wondering now if I can get by with the standard model.
You’re welcome. I’m glad it’s helping some people out. My first thought when I opened the Pro was that it seemed too large for me.
Wondering how large the "standard" is on the back compared to your average non-camera, tech backpack. The reason I ask is I am considering the Lowepro Truckee 250 BP, which measures 17.3 x 11.8 x 7.9" externally. I flipflopping between this and the Fastpack "standard", because it looks like it might be a little oversized. I like the idea of the extra space, but the Truckee is small enough to look like a regular, unassuming backpack and its size meets airline guidelines for a personal item (so you could still carry on a small suitcase). The Fastpack however, is superior in both design and features, so I was curious to know if you feel if it was very lightly packed when I'm boarding a plane, I might get away with calling it a personal item bag. Fastpack External: 21.3 x 12.4 x 7.9" Internal: 11.4 x 10 x 5.1" Top - 11.4 x 8.7 x 4.9" Camera Weight: 2.7 lb Truckee External: 17.3 x 11.8 x 7.9" Internal: 10.4 x 8.8 x 5.2" Top - 10 x 7.6 x 6" Camera Weight 1.5 lb
I would describe the standard as slightly larger than a reg. backpack. The standard is: 19 1/4 x 12 x 6" (ext.). As far as the looks, to me it passes as a reg. pack. One thing I notice is that even if it's packed lightly, the bottom isn't made to be flattened. So while you might flatten out the top compartment some, you will still be dealing with (about the bottom 1/3) being 6" front to back. While wearing the standard on my back, it does feel closer to a reg. pack than the pro for sure but again a little larger. I have an Osprey Daylite pack that has always passed easily as a personal bag, but this Fastpack might make you want to be sure on what the airline measurements are. Let me know if I can help you any further.
I ended up getting the "standard" version of the Fastpack. I will asses this when it arrives. I chose it because it has the size, pockets, etc that I will need. I was using a Lowerpo Tahoe, which is great but as I usually carry my camera on a strap - the backpack became more general use than photography. That means where the camera is normally stowed ended up getting filled with things like rain jackets and shopping - and it just isn't large enough to cope. Then if I ended up somewhere where cameras aren't allowed I was stuck. So it might be a little large, maybe too large, but I can always return it and get something smaller if that proves to be the case.
Why did you stop making films for 3 years?
In that time I committed 6 months to FEMA relief and we moved 3 times. On the front of those years, I had a fun short film on schedule; then there was the snowstorm at Tahoe that prevented that. However I still could have been making content. I guess I was looking for more of a purpose for doing so.
Very cool comparison. I'm sending it for someone who asked me for such a solution. I have the lowepro 350 tactical version but this one is more suitable for hybrid backpacking.
Thank you for commenting and sharing.
Great video! The reason for the two different models is that the "Pro" version is typically for a mirrorless or DSLR camera body with a battery grip attached thus requiring the extra width. I have used battery grips for many years and have purchased a few bags and had to return them because the bags were not big/wide enough to fit my cameras with battery grips. Thank you!
Thank you, and your welcome. I am glad the video helped you distinguish the two.
It did! I ordered one yesterday from Amazon! Thanks again!@@jjkulick
man that is how you do a comparison video. I've had the standard for 3 years, finally wore it out. Wasn't sure if the pro was the way to go. Thanks a bunch
ps I'm also a big advocate of bamboo cool underwear. Once you try them it's impossible to go back
Thank you. Glad the video helped you. Would you like to share how your standard wore out in three years? Yes nice undies, they just take extra time to dry
well its mostly my fault, I cut off the waist band when I got it because I didn't think I'd need it. Also tossed the chest strap. So the bag really isnt even at fault when it comes to me needing a new one. Just got back from maui and did a 12 mile hike through haleakala. I really wish I had waist support for that hike. I'm still sore. I'm super rough on my gear, basically throwing the bag around so I get my shot as soon as possible. The only thing that broke was the plastic safety clasp that stops the side compartment from fully opening. I've taken it to hawaii twice along with the grand canyon, zion and a few local treks. Such a great bag for storing wet sandy clothes away from camera stuff. I managed 5 days in maui with just this backpack and a carry on. With a massive gripped hasselblad x2d, and the 35-75 lens. Camera alone weighs 6 lbs. I may just get the regular again since I'm used to it. Maybe you could link the waist pads you like from amazon, and set up an affiliate code so you get a few pennies if someone buys it. cheers -WM @@jjkulick
Those sound like some epic trips!! Subscribed. The padded hip belt on the Pro is a consideration, especially if you pack heavy. It's extra support, even more once I realized it sat best resting over the hips and not on them. Which, by consequence, raises the pack and load higher. Not sure if that's good or bad. The strap on the Standard seems more just to keep the bag from shifting and I'll have to test the slip-on pads. Thanks for the insight about affiliate codes btw. As you saw, it's also a matter of how much bag you can tolerate protruding out from behind you. Good point too about having the separate compartments for wet items. A lot of other camera packs aren't designed that way. I appreciate the commentary. @@WILMORENO
watching to uupport enjoy po.MILCA3RDANNIV 😊
Great informative video. I appreciate your use of a tape measure!!
I'm pleased it helped; I thought that may be useful to some.
Thank you for this video, i already bought the Lowepro Fastpack Pro BP 250 AW III and i didn't know there was a normal one. Now i have the problem that my Sony A7 sometimes moves in my bag and i don't want that. I already tried to change the layout of the dividers but i can't find the rigt layout. Do you know if there are other dividers to use in the Lowepro Fastpack Pro BP 250 AW III?
Your welcome. You can purchase other dividers, and I have another pack that included a small hook and loop strap that is supposed to help secure a camera down with a lens attached. You might also consider a camera cube insert or something similar which I think might work if the opening orientation suits you.
Thank tou for this video, I was looking for a comparison between the two models. I wasn't sure which one to buy, but after watching your video, I think i will go for the pro model. Thanks!
I’m glad this helped you decide. I believe they both represent good quality to value ratio.
Thank you!
Your welcome.
You nuts!!! Lol ❤️ u son!
How long to dry
Just cool them enough to be able to handle them
From a culick to a kulick , thank you .

How is this a life hack?? you are using a specific nut cracker... That's more like, "this life hack uses a nut cracker" err... Life hacks are things that you can do without the use of special tools. Also, boiling them is just destroying all the precious enzymes.
I have been around pecans 4 over 35 years and I have used that same type of cracker 4 yrs and it's pretty good.Never boiled them before.
So what exactly does boiling them first do, other than simply cooking the nut, so it's not raw/green? Does it make them easier to crack, or hold together better or something?
My experience that I've seen and still do with the small Native Pecans is to Boil the Pecans first. It doesn't hurt the meat unless the shell has a crack. Small Native Pecans has a very hard Shell. If you have them cracked by an establishment, it destroys the meat where you get pieces and not half a. Yes, I went that route. Not good for these types. Boil for about 10 minutes and it softens the Shell and I use a pair of handheld Nut Cracker. I snip ends and crack Vertically and Horizontally several times and you'll get Halves. Still looking for better ways than this but so far the BEST methods for these little guy's. Hope this helps. It has for me.
One more hint with the small Native Pecans, after boiling work with small batches. Once shell cools, it gets hard again. I just need to figure out how to tackle the membrane inside. That is just as hard to deal with just like the Shell. Work with small batches at a time. It works but still more time consuming vs others but the better Nut and flavor to me.
Cool hack,! Wondering where you live ... wonderful birds singing!
Thank you, this was in Florida.
Strait to the point, my kind of video. 👍👍👍
My grandfather use to put them in a pillow case lightly hit them with a hammer and put them in a tin coffee container shake it really hard and bam no more shells
I hope you are ok since Hurricane Michael. I have no words for the devastation. I am sorry. I like your videos.
Thank you, we are fine. This area however, will be different for quite a while.

You just killed all the enzymes in the nuts, sir.
Maybe, although seeds can be pretty hardy. Anyway, most of what we use pecans for are cooked recipes where the exposed nuts reach temps well above the boiling point.
You can also soak them in cold water overnight if your worried about killing enzymes.
What enzymes?! lol enzymes are proteins and they aren’t “alive”, so you’d be denaturing them, not killing them. Which isn’t necessarily always bad nor does it mean less is gained from consumption if that makes sense. Also often times nuts contain enzyme inhibitors that can cause digestive issues when ingested…cooking them alleviates this.
Fantastic video!
Cory Sinklier Thank you
I totally love this piece. The photo captures are engaging and never dull for a second. I admire the love the respect and the deep human interest you provided in this work of art. It is the kind of piece that deserves an award for the purity of visuals and intimate interaction between you, your friends (and now somewhat my friends). This is a great look into a a great family .
