I was contemplating buying this kit, but was a bit put off because it had no tropical nose (as i really like that feature on the hurricane and spitfire) and it's not shown in the instructions at all (unless i'm reading them wrong), so i was surprised when you said that it's included in the kit. Might buy it after all. Thanks.

When the Iranians took over that ambassy, at the time i was in south korea on the DMZ, i didnt hear much about it. So for the life of me, I had know idea what the answer was but was going to guess the SBS. They are just as capable as the SAS, just not as famouse. Which is not a bad thing for special forces types. Thanks for kit release update.

Great looking kits but I'm slowly giving up the hobby. My last recent order and last order was the Trumpeter 1/16 King Tiger and Das Werk 234/2 Puma. Sold off half the stash because I have to move at the end of the month and at my age, and rate of build, I doubt I will have time to build the remaining stash kits. It's been a fun ride.

David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Sunday, 30 June, 2024-one year and one month since you originally had posted this video!). Quite a subtle, effectively evocative paint job you have presented us here, sir. Thank you for showing us your handiwork. Even more, the Academy (now the Revell Germany) 1:72nd-scale kit of the Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina U.S. Navy Patrol Bomber-as well as scout, search & rescue, anti-submarine, etc.-looks right better than I had expected. As inexperienced as you tell us you are, you do yourself credit with your deftness in execution. You might try this kit again (or the noticeably larger Revell Monogram 1:48th-scale model), though this time, painting the fuselage in various blacks, to suggest the myriad tonal variations indicating the gradual wear to the camouflage, the play of the scant, cloud-covered moonlight, etc., will give you (and us!) a night-prowling U.S. Navy “Black Cat(alina)” that proved fatally unlucky to all their enemy combatants who in the dark carelessly had crossed paths with her . . . . .

  • @TheScaleModeler

Hi David Thank you for your interesting comment and thoughts. Yes I would do this again but 1/48 is way to big for me - it would be a while though as I have a large stash to get through - Take it easy Kind regards Jim

How are you finding your airbrush??? I have been looking into these as they are supposed to be very VERY similar to the Iwata Custom Micron. Obviously externally different but the air nozzle and needle are exactly the same system apparently built on the same production line so I’d be interested in your feedback please. You probably know the Iwata costs in access of £500+ these cost between £20-£150 and spares are a lot cheaper for yours 😅😅😅 Would also like to say how much I like your channel you show your mistakes and tell us if something is difficult with the kits so it’s very refreshing to see that 😎😎😎 not everyone is like this so we’ll done you on a great channel 🤩🤩🤩 all the very best for the future, Kenny 😎😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hi Kenny Thanks for the nice comments; it means a lot. I use my Iwata Eclipse HP-CS mostly and I lovethis one. I have a bigger needle set so I can spray varnish neat without having to dilute it. This is my go to the expensive My Hobby 771 is hardly used, as it pretty much only does the fine work. My Iwata Eclipse HP-CS is pretty bashed up nowadays, but I would buy another without hesitation. Best wishes Jim

@@TheScaleModeler yes I’ve done a lot of research into the 771’s and they are wonderful airbrushes. I’ve got two HP-CH’s .3mm nozzle and a HB-BP .2mm nozzle. I can get up close and personal with the BP with its .2 needle for figures exceptional for camouflage patterns on the clothing 😍😍😍 but the CH’s are absolutely stunning work horses tough as old boots to but I do love custom micron’s I’ll never be able to own one but the 771 is extremely close to the micron same head design and airflow system just a few changes on the outside is all the difference. But at a third of the price 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩😎😎😎

The British, Commonwealth & Free Forces beaches were originally codenamed after fish: Gold fish, Sword fish & Jelly fish, but almost immediately, for the sake of convenience, 'fish' was dropped. That was fine, until the Canadians started kicking-off when they realised that they were going down in history as landing on Jelly, so the codename was changed to Juno.

I saw a box review on that kit and its quite nice, even has marking holes for rigging I really enjoy your channel, best one to inform modelers on what's coming up, the key is finding a distributor but that's become more easier with the Internet, Plus your quiz up front is fun, so far I'm at 100%.
