I love mine MX, have Victorinox 2 ares, and i use use it in work, and if i need something, fix on the spot. It's not big, and it's yust work. Much beter choice for me than Leatherman, which is much sturdier . Both mine with holster in holster i hawe bits. It's tick like Skeletool CX, but Victorinox is yust much better made multi tool. That is mine apinion .

Pretty good review-what you have there is a piece of art; functional art. Some content creators poo-poo don’t understand or realize they are holding art; to them a CRK doesn’t “flick”.

The hard wire cutter needs to work at the very bottom by the pivot as that's where wire will naturally fall. No excuse for it at all. The wave + and charge+ have no such issue and the hard cutter works right at the pivot as it should. The play in the tool is also not good enough. All in all I genuinely think the charge+ is a much better tool with it's 154cm steel on the main blade being good enough, although not as good as the magnacut and everything else just much sturdier and better built. Just my opinion.

Had a look at user comments a while ago on the GOAT website numerous unhappy people. Nice concept but poorly implemented. Just their slogan on warranty was enough to put me off...'100 YEAR GUARANTEE' at the rate they are going they will not be around that long and the fact it does not have to be the original owner either does not seem sustainable in my opinion. At this time if I wanted a multitool that is well supported from a company I know I could trust it is ROXON.

Manufactured in China, as far as I can tell. That fact alone in my opinion doesn’t affect quality, because several brands that have excellent quality are manufactured there. I feel that the design just wasn’t perfected before it was launched

Native 5 lightweight is such an awesome edc knife. Waiting for it to come in k390.. Many people always start with an para 3 but i didn’t liked the para 3 that much. The native 5 is way better in my eyes for edc. The backlock is really really good.

I trust you’re right about the proper operation of the wire cutters. That just looks really awkward to consistently do right. I’m eventually going to screw it up. Otherwise looks like a really nice edc tool. Though I’d actually lean more towards the P4, since I’m not convinced the added features are worth an extra $100. But to be fair, Leatherman gave people what they wanted… sales speak for themselves.

I’ll admit it can be a bit fiddly to use the cutting bits properly, but having used them many times, and not being particularly careful, I still have yet to chip them. So I’m confident they will be quite reliable.

This is honestly my favorite knife in my collection. I ended up buying it multiple times. Capable blade, mines starting to get good character, micarta is getting super smooth. Love the action, mines very fidget friendly. Nice weight. And as a lefty I love how you can easily switch it to lefty carry. It also just looks very nice in person. It’s consistently been my go to EDC since I got it and it’s been a while now.

Skinner/spey blade is supposed to be canted to keep your hand up higher from the work. Quality control has been spotty since the 80's, even on the pocketworn and "Select" knives that they supposedly put more time and effort into. I don't buy newer Case through the mail now. Just cherry-pick in person. I have not had blade play like that though

The reason you have the issue with the saw blade not locking is because the supplied 1mm washer needs to sit between the body and the saw blade, so the saw blade catch can sit in the back spring channel, otherwise it wont lock. If you use a 0.1mm thick brass/bronze shim between the lever and blade, it solves the problem of catching the lever - I lapped a shim to a polish (up to 2000 grit) and I can now open the main tools without the lever opening. - although, the lever does tend to show movement when the tool is almost fully opened. You're right in what you say, the black oxide increases friction, it takes a long(!) time to wear in. The blade popping out seems to be the main issue with the Goat tools. MANY users have reported that the tension on the spring back isn't strong enough to hold the blade in. - resulting in users slightly bending the back spring closer to the tools, so that its tension is increased. As for the wire cutters, a dremel to grind away a small slope between the screw and the main body, so that wire cutting is easier. Also, placing small neodymium magnet inside so that they face each other, helps keep it closed, whilst still being easy to open with one hand. - unfortunately, for those that work with metal, magnets are a pain! I get that for a multitool, no one should have to do this amount of modding to their tool to be eventually good to use(In saying that, there isn't a leatherman I own that hasn't been customised!😂). Good to see a vid talking about the issues with this tool! Being honest and having constructive criticism is the way for companies to learn. I only hope Goat tool learn from this and sort all these issues out in their next gen version.
