The Arc is by far my favorite of any knife or multi tool. I've used so many over the years. And yea it costs alot but so does everything. and i get a 25 year warranty over every inch of it. And theres tons of people who say the warranty is awesome with leatherman. It's where form meets function. a beautiful piece of art over years of science and engineering to make the most awesome multi tool ever made in my opinion. I hope they continue down this path. And if your one of those people who like the Surge or Wave better then guess what?... they still make those too

Arc really set the bar high for these other companies... Maybe we will see some good quality innovation now from others

I’m all GOAT.:) Every day for over 6 months. It’s not fumbly at all for me. It does take some getting used to. If something breaks goat will send you a new one. Best warranty of all multitools. Craftblade did stab me once. I moved it away from the bit magnet. It hasn’t raised one time since then. I have to support my GOAT. I like it very much and I’m glad I took the chance to buy it.

Totally respect that! For some people it may be the right tool, I just unfortunately haven’t had the best experience with mine.. I do appreciate all you do to help people get the most out of their GOAT tool, great content!

How have you concluded it's the best warranty? Leatherman also will replace tools that break and have a considerably longer track record right?

@@MPD90howdy just seeing this for some reason. Sorry🙂 Well I’m pretty sure you have to send your tool to leatherman if you want them to fix something. Goat you just send them a pic of what’s broke and they send you a new one. Their warranty is forever and transferable to the next person. They also encourage modding and still honor their forever warranty. No one else does that. It does all depend on the continuing success of the goat company tho.

Wave+ and the Vic SwissTool both test out at 56. That's certainly not 'poor performance' by any multitool standard. The edge grind may certainly be different, of course. None of them are super high end blade steels except for that on the Arc (60.5), which has *excellent* performance...but that doesn't make Vic (or the Wave, et al, for that matter) 'poor'. In fact, Vic equals or betters most all MT blade steels (which all suffer in the Arc's shadow!). OTOH, if one simply finds a larger blade than the Vic offers more useful for their particular needs, that is another matter altogether.

The Victorinox looks gorgeous, that would probably be my choice of the bunch (although in the UK we can't EDC any of these). Personally I think people over-state the importance of a knife blade in day-to-day life. From what I see and hear people talking about, they mainly use the knife for opening packages, and there's better tools on most of these multi-tools than the knife blade for that purpose. If a multi-tool has a good pair of scissors and a good package opening tool (i.e. sharp chisel, awl etc), the knife becomes a rare use tool for me personally.

That’s a real bummer about the knife laws there.. but you make a good point, scissors and a package opener would get you through 90% of what you’d use a knife blade for anyway. It all just comes down to preference (and local laws unfortunately…). Thanks for watching!

I have the Leatherman Arc and the Victorinox Spirit MX clip. There's no comparison. The ARC is the king. The Victorinox is nice but the blade sucks and the phillips head wears out and it's not replaceable.

@@The_commonmanthis was an excellent video and I myself have been very indecisive as to whether to buy the victorinox Swiss tool MX clip which is the bigger version or the Leatherman Arc and the Leatherman Arc seems like an amazing tool but I did hear about the issues with the wire cutters for the pliers but then I researched even further and it looks like Leatherman did fix the issue so I have not owned either except for years ago I had a Swiss army knife and I do like that victorinox's multi-tools and blades are very chromium plated which gives it a very good mirror shine and also protects it from corrosion and I know the sounds funny but the victorinox tools don't seem to have a very strong metallic smell I think because of the high amount of chromium in the metal as with the Leatherman multi-tools that I have played around with as far as the wave plus and the surge just seem to have a real high metallic smell and I don't know if that can be something that goes away in time or you can apply some kind of polish compound to dissipate that smell and to also give it a better corrosion resistance? And looking forward to hearing back from you and again this review was very good

@@clarkkent4608 thank you, I appreciate that! As far as the smell goes, it’s not something I’ve noticed. Or can really speak to. As far as the cutting heads breaking on the ARC, I’ve made dozens of cuts through many different materials, and I’ve never had them chip on me. Personally, for the blade size and material alone, I would recommend the ARC all day long, however, if corrosion resistance is a big concern, and you don’t mind a smaller blade, less edge retention, and nail nicks on most of the tools, the MX Clip is an excellent choice. I just uploaded my full review on it if you’d like to check it out! Thanks!

Thank you for the input and yeah it's such a hard decision, lol but there is some debate on how the victorinox Swiss tool MX clip and the victorinox Swiss tool spirit MX clip can have an issue where it's hard to get the tools out of the handles and there's another gentleman that makes videos like you do about multi-tools and I guess he figured out a way to take a flathead screwdriver and get into the slot to where it loosens up the springs and then the tools come out much easier but it just looks like for east of use the Leatherman ARC just looks like it works much better and I am a maintenance tech/handyman for my profession and I need a good multi-tool that's just for a good EDC and I'm not going to be doing any kind of heavy duty work but I need something when I'm in a pinch to use like let's say the saw or the diamond file or the pliers to tighten something down or the Phillips head or the flathead screwdriver and I like the way that everything seems to open up much easier on the Leatherman ARC and I also heard that some people had issues like I was reading in one of the replies to one of your comments on this video that the person said that their Phillips head kind of broke and that the knife on the victorinox Swiss tool multi-tools really sucks, lol and it seems like the blades on the Leatherman ARC are much nicer but the only thing I think that I really love about the victorinox multi-tools is that really good mirror finish but it seems like they're metals are not that great because they're using a much lower grade of metal so this is my reason for indecision but it seems like I'm more lean towards the Leatherman ARC and as far as that metallic smell it's something on the tools when it comes to stainless steel and I was actually reading about it in an article that it has to do with what the steel is made from and that it gives kind of a metallic earthy smell but steals that are made with more chromium in them like the victorinox multitools seem to not have that type of metallic smell and their better for corrosion resistance but I think I'm leaning on the Leatherman ARC and I believe there's a way to polish the tools to give them protection and give them that mirror finish and which video did you upload recently? And looking forward to hearing back from you for some more input and again your videos and knowledge are very good@@The_commonman

@@The_commonmanso I did go back and watch your video on the victorinox Swiss tool Spirit MX clip which is the smaller multi-tool and it was a good video but I think the Swiss tool MX clip looks better which is the bigger victorinox multi-tool and that's what I'm undecided on and looking forward to your input
