Just so everyone who is watching this is aware, Bear Creek Arsenal is one of the least reliable weapon systems on the market. if these guys really tested all of these guns and said they were reliable, they are just extremely lucky. If you are on a budget, that's fine, but there are better options. These rifles from bear Creek are complete junk.

Buy a set Lok palm swell grips and an S2 extended safety and you have a much better carry gun than the Kimber.

it's hard to say if a name brand you can expect issues from would be recommended for beginners. making sure all screws are tight, proper lubrication, switching out charge handle, firing pin, extractor. I heard the firing pins are notorious for breaking on these. one thing is certain these are affordable. which is a HUGE deal

OK Gents, a quick & simple question for you. I'm on the verge of replacing / upgrading my Car Pistol (not carry). After much research, down to two options. This KDS9c Rail? Or Sig P229 Legion SAO?

  • @ChamberOneTactical

We can’t speak to the P229 as we have not shot that gun yet. I will say that the sig has a great reputation. We will try to get our hands on one so that we can do a review on it.

I bought one 11.5” BCA upper that was on sale. The barrel nut wasn’t even hand tight. Luckily I checked before I shot. Scary to think of people not checking that before they shoot.

I use both 20 inch 223 wylde and a 20 inch 243 uppers built by BCA for coyote. They very accurate and no functional errors so far. Very satisfied.

P-07 w/threaded barrel was my first CZ and really like it. Picked it up on a whim. Then I picked up the S2C, then 75D PCR and P-01 in Urban Gray w/threaded barrel. I like them all and shoot them reasonably well. Thinking about making 75D PCR my new carry gun. Have kept them all stock. For me personally I can't see messing with factory specs and reliability. Also, if I have to use one defensively then upgrades to triggers, etc could be a bad thing in court.

I think BCA uppers are pretty good. Most of the issues that I have heard from people usually involve the the bolt or BCG in general. If you have some good quality BCGs around, Id say go for it. Throw a Sons of Liberty, Spikes, Aero, any decent BCG in there and I think its a win. The BCG is the heart of the gun. I got a .300 blackout upper, threw in a Sons BCG, and it works great. The barrel isnt going to last as long as a DD or Bravo Company, but hey, you can always swap the barrel

I own both a Shadow 2 and a P10C, both without the optic ready slides. I purchased them prior to the optic ready models being available. I would not purchase any of these two pistols. If CZ wanted to they could come out with an optics ready model, but they chose not to cater to their loyal fans. When looking for a polymer DA/SA pistol I went with the Grand Power MK23 K-100 optics ready pistol. It’s an exceptionally accurate and reliable pistol that is well built. The rotating barrel also helps mitigate the felt recoil. The only thing that I don’t like is the plastic shoe on the trigger. There are other companies than CZ that are actually listening to their customer base so why should I reward CZ for their engineering laziness.

It is not true that CZ Shadow 2 Compact doesn’t have de-cocking capabilities, it doesn’t have de-cocking lever. It was removed simply because it’s not needed. It is quite alarming how many (almost every single one!) reviewer on KZread keep criticize this fine pistol, a real masterpiece, which most of the owners agree that it is the best gun ever made. I don’t expect everyone to think as an engineer like I do, but you have to ask yourself why a reputable company with 1,800 employees made that decision to take that lever out. I made a short video to explain how to safely carry this gun: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKujl6ePhMqeeLA.htmlsi=zJNQGBP04l848x_C I have to tell you that P01 is NOT safe to dry shoot, dislike Shadow 2 which is. Study internal components, try to understand the design intention before make any conclusions. To try to modify an obsolete gun instead to buy the new improved model is just stupid attempt. Sorry for being straight forward, but I don’t know how else I could say it.

You're upper and lower are not well matched. Your brass ejection is pretty far forward, which means your bolt velocity is too high. This might be called over-gassed. Equivalently, this could be considered under-buffered and/or over-sprung. I don't know what the buffer is in your lower, but if it's a carbine 3.5 oz buffer, you might try an H or H2 buffer, which will slow the bolt velocity and allow the brass time to get out of the ejection port before closing on it and stovepiping. I know you guys were just trying to test the upper, but since the recoil system is in the lower, the upper and lower are not completely independent. Maybe you guys already know this, but i thought folks watching this with little AR experience might benefit.

I'm 76 and my eyes do not like 3 dot white sights, I prefer blacked out rear and fiber front. Fiber front and rear are OK but need to be a contrast like green rear and red front. I love shooting with a dot, but my EDC does not have an optic, personal preference. I would like the S2 to have a decocker, bit I would choose the CZ over the Kimber. For me, that's a no brainer. A few months back I bought a CZ 75 and choose it over the sp01.

. I would say that You can throw extended safeties, and a CGW increased Pressure Dentent spring, on the CZ and the secure safety problem is ended. I carry it Cocked & Locked No Problems, and I'm used to carrying 1911's for years.... The CZ is just so much lighter, and shoots so much better than anything in its class... I cal it a competition carry gun. The Bottom line is if you shoot better with the CZ, then that's what you should carry... It could mean the difference between coming home or not.... Just Sayin'

I believe it to be the ammo, but it had to be sure. I like the fact that the P01 is NATO certified. That was a huge selling point to me, that thing is a tank.
