Can u add nutone intercom to your "intercom type" list? Thanks
I don't have an intercom-type list, which list are you talking about?
I am in the process of building a new house and this could be useful in so many ways. Right off the top of my head, I would like to try and develop a remote monitor for the septic system.
Best of luck!
It's a good idea
Thank you!!
I'd use this as an alternative garage door opener since the radio in my existing one is barely working.
capibridge frimware is only one way comunication for now .
Can this gateway also be used to control devices over long distances?
With firmware modification yes, but for now, only one-way communication RX.
I'm currently planning a water irrigation system for my parent's greenhouse. This gateway would be really helpful to communicate with different sensors and relays for this project. For the idea of shields, I would also add IR Blaster next to the RF433 shield to replace remotes in the house and control A/C for example through HA. Last but not least I want to thank you for the amazing quality content, building the project itself then shooting everything (with all the different angle shots, etc..) I can't image how much work is behind every video.. at the same time, I can't wait for the next project 😅
Thank you very much! As for the IR, I'm not entirely sure because it needs to be installed in a specific location. However, I have an idea: to create a shield for "WiFi Probe Requests" so you can detect when specific people are approaching the house, with capturing MAC addresses.
Why am i getting this recommended only just now?
Maybe not subscribed :))
Plan to integrate it into my presence sensors that I made using esp-32’s
yes, why not
With PoE and the ability to also use it as a Bluetooth-Proxy, this would be a huge game changer. Would love to get my hands on this, but also looking forward to version 2.0!
everyone has WIFI and maybe 5 percent of them has PoE switch. v2 will be with minor changes, but in the list, i have other Gateway project "for remote locations"
i so excited i want to make this type of gateway but failed to get that much of power effeciency its too amazing .
Gateway is not power efficient, and sensors are
DIY sensor game!!
it's a best game
Looks like a perfect match for my water leak detection system in the crawl space
why not!
I plan to make a smart house project to make it more efficient and secure.
nice!
good work
Thanks
is 923-4 also available ?
no only 1234

Am excited about LoRa and ESP-NOW Gateway for Home Assistant!
nice
Such a great idea and design :) Looking forward to using this to see dam water levels. Would love 433 support! Use a LOT of that!
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome idea.. it means i’ll be able to connect to my further sensors without relying on the wifi expanders I’ve put up for the connection (witch fails intermittently) and was making me give up… i guess that’s the way to go… 👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
This project is very cool It would be awesome if the main ESP would be able to run ESPHome rather then depend on MQTT etc
Thank you, ESPhome don't support LoRa
@@PricelessToolkit yea they also don't directly support esp-now but I've seen people create libraries for it
Love the dual ESP design, need to have sheild for GPS/GNSS or 4G
thanks, maybe 3G or EDGE is cheaper.
a great combination of both tools. i am looking to use it for some projects
Thanks

hmmm :)
Where are you located? I was chatting with a rep from jlcpcb and he said that they can’t ship loose components due to customs regulations. I’m in Europe. He said I needed to either have them assemble the entire board or I would need to source the components elsewhere. Very odd.
I'm in France, what does it mean "the loose components"?
@@PricelessToolkit I mean the parts that I'm not having them assemble. I have a PCB with various components on it. I'm a new customer so they have a "free SMT assembly on one side" promotion. I'm having them assemble one side and wanted them to send me the remaining components in my BOM that I'm going to solder myself. He said they can't do that due to customs regulations. They can only sell components that are assembled on a board. Is that not true? I was looking around on the website during my order process after I uploaded the gerber file and BOM and stuff and even though my BOM has all the parts required for the PCB it only showed me the parts that they were going to assemble.
So much knowledge!
A little!!
Informative video
Thanks
new home assistent for friend
nice!
Thank you for the video. I wish I can get the board as I want to do a system for a drones control around the house and lora would help to communicate with them and esp would give control over drones parameters.
Thanks for watching, check the "ELRS" it is more suited for that control link + config.
Wow, nice project. I would use this for my aquaponics automation project to simplify my sensor connections through Wifi and Lora. My current stack is HA, MQTT, Node-red, InfluxDB, Grafana
Thank you!! Sounds great!
temp in the greenhouse
yep, temp is the first thing
Garden watering with sensors collection water barel levels, rainwater and soil water content over a 1000m2 garden.
wow nice big garden!
saludos uno para chile
Hola desde Francia, bienvenido.
interesting project thanks for it, skdoa that it's wifi/usbc and not lan + poe :D
Thanks, but Wi-Fi and USB-C are what worked best for this project. LAN and PoE aren't always necessary
Have a dozen projects this would be excellent in!
nice!
I will use this to track data of my beehives. I collect temperature, humidity and weight and sending it via SMS at the moment. Huge overhead to save my data in a database... With the data I can say when it's the best time to harvest the honey or feed my bees. I would love to have one! 😊
Nice! The Beehive Controller project has been on my list for over two years. I love bees!
@@PricelessToolkit Do you own hives? I was stuck on this project also for two years and just finished it. ^^
@@e2Dy Personally, no, but I found a colleague from work who has many, so I can experiment with it. Interestingly, the main problem is the physical design, which needs to address handling duties, transportation, stacking, and so on. "for 100+ hives"
@@PricelessToolkit Ok that's a lot! I could not imagine to handle more than 10 hives beside my job. A friend welded me a frame for the scale. What metrics will you collect from your implementation?
@@e2Dy Interior: sound level, frequency, hum, temperature, VOCs, and possibly CO2. Exterior: temperature, humidity, light (Lux), and weight. How precisely can you determine the honey weight?
Great video, and a very cool product. Would this be able to integrate with meshtastic, seeing as it has LoRa components?
Thanks, No its not compartible with meshmastic.
Hi, interesting for Meshtastic and IOT stuff ! what about the price to build a CapiBridge ?
it depends on what you have already, but it is certainly cheaper than my selling price "for a full kit".
Amazing project! I will definitely test it in my Smarthome environment.
Thanks
Constructing a miniature fleet of RC vehicles. Some autonomous, relaying telemetry and sensor data, while others will allow telepresence override (you remote in and drive, sense, fly etc) A central hub and link to home assistant is in the plan and today's project just checked many boxes. Thanks
Glad that this project is helpful.
I’m excited to transition my small grape field from Esp32+Lora based per-vine plant sensor (moisture + temp + sunlight + humidity) to EspNOW-only !
but why every plant has its own sensor ?
@@PricelessToolkit these are mature Pinot vines and are sampled at harvest for content to then determine potential micro climate changes for optimizing various end-product (wine) characteristics
Some serious research, nice!!
Just come across your channel blown away by the quality especially for your size, fantastic work!
Thank you very much!!!!!
This would be great for a solar tracking project.
Solar tracking or solar powered ?
I would love to have this to combine some door sensors and get a trigger once someone rings my bell and so on. My crucial factor, the range. LoRa is perfect to get my garages sensors and the front door sensors, espnow would be a great thing to use for my cameras in this combination. Bring everything together is a very comfortable way to do so, especially with reduced power consumption. Especially the size is nice so it can be placed in a good location without much wires hanging around. 💪
LoRa is suitable for long-range communication (300m-1km), but it will spread your signal across the entire neighborhood. For indoor use, ESP-NOW is a very good option.
