Hi, I have a small business myself and the 1st jar is what i have been using. I buy them in different colours coming from the US. I am from Canada. Can I ask what the minimum purchase is? And can you mix and match colours? I tried messaging manufacturer and i don’t get good response from them. maybe because it is much harder to ship to Canada? Thank you for sharing.

I’ve had really good luck with messaging the manufacturers so far. Maybe try reaching out again. I would imagine they have multiple people helping, so maybe if you start a new inquiry you’ll get someone that’s more helpful. Thanks for watching! ❤️

Don't give up. I don't have a retail store and sell at events, this is my thirds year, but I took May, June, July off as summer months are slow. I have a couple of events in August, but my focus this year will be Sept. - Dec. The end of the year is really the best time for me. However, this year has been slow for me and others from what I have heard in other soap and candle groups. Also, I usually have a mix of items as my sister and mother make jewelry and some decor.

@@anastasialujan6238 that’s awesome you get to add some handmade items along with your candles. I agree the summer is slower which isn’t a terrible thing as it gives us time to prep for busy season. I’ve kept my store open during the spring and summer and have actually had decent sales. It’s convenient for me though because it’s next to the building where I work full time, so it’s easy to pop over when someone stops by. I hope you have a great fall & holiday season! I sell 45-50K candles a year. I shut down between Mother's Day and Labor Day every year.

@@crykyt I know several people who shut down or at least scale back during spring and summer. It’s definitely not a bad idea at all. I’ve stayed open because my store is on the property where I work my full time job, so it makes sense for me to stay open. Sales have surprised me this year, but of course it’s nothing like what’s to come in the fall & winter seasons. Hope you’re enjoying your break and you have a great fall! Thanks for watching! ❤️

Probably a combination of things, less discretionary spending due to inflation as well as why people purchase decor. In our store we see less movement in the summer/spring of all decor/art work. When I ask our customer why they are purchasing decor items, usually they are looking for gifts.

The pumpkins were packaged so well, as were the green Christmas jars. After digging in, I see the pumpkins from CandleScience are bigger than the ones I purchased, but I believe the style is the same. The Christmas jars were also from Alibaba. All great experiences so far with Alibaba.

Shipping did cost more than the product itself. I took the total cost to get the products to my door and divided that number by the total number of jars I ordered to get my cost per jar. By doing that I was able to determine that it was still a significant savings and definitely worth it.

It’s like taking off a bandaid - you just have to rip it off real quick and get it over with. I absolutely cringe looking back on my first few videos, but I leave them up as a reminder of just how far I’ve come. It’s still hard to put myself out there at times, but I just keep posting them. I promise it gets easier! If I can do it, anyone can.

Also, I love supporting other small businesses. I recently got some samples from Midwest Fragrance, and I'm pretty sure they're going to become a fast favorite!! I'm planning to burn my testers this weekend.

Thanks soooo much 🙏❤️😇 I’m starting over in life and in business after having had a 20+ year-long successful business wrapped in a failed and miserable relationship in the end. I couldn’t live happily in that environment. It was killing me. However, I am grateful to have a new lease on life! I’m not making candles but discovered my passion in skincare and pet care products. Your advice is awesome. You’re right - you need your story behind the brand, be willing to share it and be passionate about your product! Believe in yourself! Learn from your competitors, build a relationship with your customers and listen to their feedback. Take time to digest that feedback and I can’t stress this last point enough - reevaluate what is important in your life each year and how you see yourself and your business in 3-5 years, 10-15, 25+. Make it work for you! Don’t let the business own you - you need to stay true to yourself but be willing to change and grow. Sometimes that means different things to different business partners. Stay relevant.

It’s so hard, but so exciting!! Not sure what type of room you’re in, but it looks nice. I really like the paint color in there. Is it possible to get some inexpensive cabinets for all the storage? I know here in the Memphis area Lowe’s & Home Depot have decent ones you can dress up with paint & nice knobs. Or even no knobs & they still look nice. ?? Just an idea. You could just put them on one wall/one side & store all the stuff, but would still be a nice part of your home. I’m using my kitchen & also have pretty much NO extra space so I just have boxes stacked in a corner.. YIKES! Lol Like you, I don’t like it junky so I’m thinking of adding a cabinet in my library area next to my kitchen to tuck items away. Looking forward to your other videos, have a good one!

Hi there. I thought I would mention that most impulse sealers will cut as well. You may have to turn the heat up slightly. This way you don’t have to use scissors to cut off excess.

I use chop sticks, the wooden disposibble ones you get at chinese food restaurants. Don't separate them. keep then as they come. And each one will hold one wick perfectly and it reaches all the way accross the whole bowl. I bought a box of 500 for very little on amazon and I reuse them.

Tip for holding wicks.....get some inexpensive wooden food skewers and secure two side by side by wrapping blue painters tape around just the ends. Then you can secure two of the wicks together by slipping them up between the skewers and they are long enough to rest on the edge of bowl. Then just use a second set to secure the third wick. If you want I can send you a video of what I mean.

I’m happy to know I’m in good company! 😉 I would DEFINITELY recommend that you start posting on your KZread channel. It’s like taking off a bandaid - you just have to rip it off real quick and get it over with. I absolutely cringe looking back on my first few videos, but I leave them up as a reminder of just how far I’ve come. It’s still hard to put myself out there at times, but I just keep posting them. I promise it gets easier! If I can do it, anyone can.

I mainly purchase from Columbus Candle Supply and CandleScience. Columbus Candle Supply is somewhat local to me, and it's nice to be able to shop in person. Also, I love supporting other small businesses. I recently got some samples from Midwest Fragrance, and I'm pretty sure they're going to become a fast favorite!! I'm planning to burn my testers this weekend.

Thanks soooo much 🙏❤️😇 I’m starting over in life and in business after having had a 20+ year-long successful business wrapped in a failed and miserable relationship in the end. I couldn’t live happily in that environment. It was killing me. However, I am grateful to have a new lease on life! I’m not making candles but discovered my passion in skincare and pet care products. Your advice is awesome. You’re right - you need your story behind the brand, be willing to share it and be passionate about your product! Believe in yourself! Learn from your competitors, build a relationship with your customers and listen to their feedback. Take time to digest that feedback and I can’t stress this last point enough - reevaluate what is important in your life each year and how you see yourself and your business in 3-5 years, 10-15, 25+. Make it work for you! Don’t let the business own you - you need to stay true to yourself but be willing to change and grow. Sometimes that means different things to different business partners. Stay relevant.

It’s so hard, but so exciting!! Not sure what type of room you’re in, but it looks nice. I really like the paint color in there. Is it possible to get some inexpensive cabinets for all the storage? I know here in the Memphis area Lowe’s & Home Depot have decent ones you can dress up with paint & nice knobs. Or even no knobs & they still look nice. ?? Just an idea. You could just put them on one wall/one side & store all the stuff, but would still be a nice part of your home. I’m using my kitchen & also have pretty much NO extra space so I just have boxes stacked in a corner.. YIKES! Lol Like you, I don’t like it junky so I’m thinking of adding a cabinet in my library area next to my kitchen to tuck items away. Looking forward to your other videos, have a good one!

Hi there. I thought I would mention that most impulse sealers will cut as well. You may have to turn the heat up slightly. This way you don’t have to use scissors to cut off excess.

That's why it's hard for you to reach many audiences and sufficient views. Do you know what you should do to grow your KZread channel and get more views and subscribers? Let's talk about it.
I use chop sticks, the wooden disposibble ones you get at chinese food restaurants. Don't separate them. keep then as they come. And each one will hold one wick perfectly and it reaches all the way accross the whole bowl. I bought a box of 500 for very little on amazon and I reuse them.

Tip for holding wicks.....get some inexpensive wooden food skewers and secure two side by side by wrapping blue painters tape around just the ends. Then you can secure two of the wicks together by slipping them up between the skewers and they are long enough to rest on the edge of bowl. Then just use a second set to secure the third wick. If you want I can send you a video of what I mean.
