My first attempt at making soap!

Hang out with me while I try the soap making kit I purchased from ‪@candlescience‬ It didn't go as planned, but I promised to keep it real on this channel. Be sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell so you don't miss my next video where I give it another try.

Yay so glad you are trying soap, it’s so fun! I make cold process soap and I love brambleberry’s mica colors ❤

Working quickly is pretty important with melt and pour soap. You have a small window before it hardens. Know what you're melting point is, use a thermometer to guide you. After a few attempts you'll start to notice the fluidity changing and then it'll harden quickly. Reheat and continue your project, but temperature is so important with melt and pour especially when you are working with swirls and layers, etc. Your bubbles didn't go away because you already had the skin on your soap. Pour your soap, spray the bubbles. Don't wait until it is all poured unless you are working very quickly and the soap is still fluid. And the plastic wrap, not necessary, but helpful. It will help keep your soap fluid longer, keep the heat in it. When you are working with more than one color at a time, keep the color you are not pouring, stirring, etc, covered. It takes some practice. It's fun and addictive. Lol

You can always remelt your soap bars to pour them again. Melt and pour is actually harder than it seems. It’s normal for things to seize up again. You can melt a bit more if you feel like it’s not going to pour right. The important thing is not to heat so much that the soap starts boiling in the microwave or glycerin beads could form later on the bar. But if you package them as soon as they are 100% cool, and seal them up in shrink wrap, that shouldn’t happen. Excited to see your next attempt. This one wasn’t so bad ☺️

Thank you so, so much! It was hard for me to post the video, because I saw a million red flags as I was watching it. 🤣 But that’s what it’s all about. Learning new things is often a lot of trial and error. I poured some last night and they turned out so much better! I can’t wait to upload the next video. Thank you for watching! ❤️

Yes. Rebatch it with a similar scent. Also you can use a lil mica mixed with alcohol. It makes it sparkly ❤️

You did great for your first try. I’ve been making soap for years. Check the temperature to heat it by the company you bought it from and the flash point. Once you add the fragrance oil it will cool down fast making it stringy. ❤️

I love these types of videos, they’re so authentic. How did you like the soap?! Also you can remelt those soap bars and try again! The trick is to get them melted to 120 degrees, add the dye and oil and stir quickly before it starts to set up. Spray generously with alcohol until all the bubbles are gone. Looking forward to the next batch!
