Freya & Beyla

Freya & Beyla

I got a dog for my dog, and they're the best of friends!

Freya is my 2 year old Australian Shepherd and Beyla is the newest addition to the family and she is a Golden Retriever. My name is Marissa and I started making videos on Freya so I could capture all the puppy cuteness before she grew up too fast, and it just kinda stuck. I started this channel so I could go more in depth on Freya's trainings and share our life together with yall. I'm excited to continue on with more Freya videos of course, but also to document Beyla's journey in the family and how life is with 2 doggos now.

New DOG VLOGS are every Friday (and sometimes Saturday too) - so make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss out on the surprise uploads.

Amazing videos. Have been watching all your dog videos. I would love to know what you recommend more for the dog pee pads. The smart paws with grate. I hear that one is super easy to clean and durable or the dog grass pee pad with tray reviews say it’s harder to clean but does have that grass look to it. We are trying to decide which one to purchase and you have had both items. Thank you!

Can you share what resource you used to learn to train her so well? I have a 9 week old female Aussie and want to get started withe her training.

My dog is part Aussie so I think that is how he would react to a new puppy! Except he would probably be scared of the pup at first!😂

Did Freya go into heat? My 5 month old Aussie is going into heat right now. There's a lot of controversy about when to spay your puppy. I'm just curious about your thoughts on waiting a year to 2 years to spay? I am going to wait at least a year.

I work however I get off work about 3 to 330 on most days. I am trying to think of what to add 4 to 6 time period? I know I’m going to take him out for a potty break, but I’m not sure what I want to do. I don’t wanna put him back in his crate if he’s gonna go to bed at 8 o’clock.

Raised Right also makes a gently cooked dog food that has amazing ingredients. Since you’re so into limited ingredient products, I highly recommend their food over any kibble.

I would look into getting a “y-shaped” harness, since they are one of the only harness designs that allow for free movement of their shoulder blades. Most other harnesses will cross over, or add pressure points to their shoulder blades which can alter their natural gate, and over time can cause mobility issues.

stumbled on your channel and watched your video even though most of what I watched were from 2 years ago :) reason is, we're getting an australian shepherd too for our first pup. After watching several videos, I saw a thumbnail that you have a golden retriever and I have to find the video of when you first picked up your 2nd pup. We''ll be having two, our german shepherd is coming to us 5 months after our australian shepherd. Your videos are fun to watch as well as informative, me and my wife learned a lot and are still taking mental notes :)

Ok this video has a little old but I highly recommend a Dremel! I love that it eases my mind without the clippers because no cutting the quick or anything and I no some dogs don’t like the noise but my dog tolerates it more plus u can see how short the nail is getting a lot easier. And some tools have lights on them which is awesome, highly recommend.👍

My golden Maggie just turned 4 months today. We got her as a Christmas gift this past Christmas. I have previously had a golden puppy Madeline at 8 weeks and adopted a golden/Irish setter George at about 2 yrs old. Both have crossed over the 🌈 bridge at age 12 & 13. Each life stage has had its own challenges. It’s been a rough one with Maggie since we still can take her out on walks due to needing her second set of Parvo vaccines. Keeping her engaged in toys and exhausting all that puppy energy has been a challenge. I’ve purchased so many enrichment toys to keep her busy. Even with all my prior experience having goldens I can definitely benefit from dog training techniques so thank you so much for your videos. “OFF” is definitely being processed as a suggestion and not a command at the moment 😅. Counter 🏄‍♀️ also has me on edge especially after realizing how fast she is growing. Looking forward to more videos. Just a tip in the future since you have two dogs. A y-type leash helped me walk both my goldens pretty easily.

Since we first bought a puppy home every night she'll go and sleep on the bed instead of the crate because she doesn't like the crate even though we've been training her to get used to the grocery store doesn't like it so we never took out the crate for the first couple days she only ever really goes in the crate if we're not going to be home all day and then she ends up like pooping and peeing in a cream and we have to give her a bath when you get home it's really bad but so we just let her sleep on the bed at night and she's only 3 months and she knows pretty much every trick in the book she's like the smartest puppy we've ever seen and she is a really fast learner

I’m like 90% sure I’m getting a female golden retriever named Roan for Christmas from my dad because he asked me if she is cute, too old or too young, and just other questions that make it pretty obvious. Anyway, I’m super excited and please like and reply to the comment so I can come back with updates after Christmas!!

Thank you for putting a harness on her. Every dog owner should use a harness. I cannot stress this enough. Drives me crazy seeing people jerking on a leash from the collar. Please Seriously consider getting a GPS pet tracker for her ❤

I disagree that you are teaching how to be a dog. You're teaching them how you want him to function in your home. She "knows" how to be a dog, just like you "know" how to be a human. Lol.

Loved the video! Though I want to comment on some things. 1. From what I learned, it’s better to put the bag of food in the bin instead of dumping it into the bin. What that causes is oxidation and makes the food go bad faster and microplastics from the bins can get into the food. 2. The treats are full of starches. It may contain fruits and other stuff but it’s not healthy. What I would recommend is Purebites, Vital essentials, or Farm hounds. It’s all meat and no sugar or starches. 3. About the plaque busters, it has starches which is not beneficial at all for them. You could instead give them air dried or freeze dried bones like chicken feet or duck feet or wing.
