No front fender and no windshield LOL. I actually brought my 2007 Dyna in to the shop to get fork seals replaced, they said my front fender was so dangerous they couldn't put it back on. And that was right before a long 9 hour ride with hundreds of bikers. I actually hit some rain and drove in the rain for about an hour and a half. Riding in the rain with no windshield and no front fender is like some kind of a sick joke, the water and mud from the front wheel will hit you right in the helmet to where you have to wipe off the mud from your visor every 15 seconds, it's scary as heck. Makes the bike look cool but don't drive it in the rain. And avoid sand and gravel too, the front wheel will pick it up and sand blast not only your helmet but the headlight and front of the engine. I tried a bandanna on the fork above the tire, that helps a bit but not much. When I got home I welded up my old fender and put it back on the bike LOL.
@sammspeed3 жыл бұрын
@ Chris - windshields are for pussy’s and do not belong on a Street Bob 😜 I follow your argument in regard to the fender. On longer rides I put it on, but hopping around downtown, I prefer without Ride safe Mike

What is that bar that goes across your forks that's right above your tire?

@sammspeed5 жыл бұрын
Hi Stefan, if you will lower the fender, the radius of the fender will not match the OEM seat anymore, so you will have a gap between seat and fender. I installed a single (HD) seat. It had springs originally, but I fixed it with rigid mounts. If you want to stick to to the original seat, you can fill the gap by hard foam and make a new seat cover. Best regards Michael (also from Germany 😎)

Hey mate! perfect looking bike! Quick question with the rear fender.. do you have to do anything else to it after drilling the holes? do you bend the tongue down on seat or?
@sammspeed5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mitch, thanks for the comment. First of all you have to cut off the excessive metal sheet of the fender which will peep out below the struts. Since the entire fender is lower, you need to make sure you have enough clearance everywhere else => cut out the fender to give more room around the belt and at the swing arm.In case you will use the OEM seat further, you have to bend it to adjust it to the "new radius" of the fender. I have a single spring-seat (but mounted it rigid), so I did not have that issue.GreetsMike

Ich möchte auch 11er verbauen und meinen Fender um 3cm choppen, habe allerdings Angst, dass bei den normalen 11" Federbeinen und der 18er Felgengröße Kontakt entstehen könnte. Vielleicht kannst du ja mal deine Erfahrung teilen! Grüße
