Great vid! I had a couple questions: I've heard the display of the 15x is 'muddy', is it really? Do you find that you have to look check between your main monitor and the 15x often for color accuracy? Thanks!

The color is not spot on but it's not bad. Just make sure you have the wires plugged in properly. I thought the color was bad then I pressed the wire in and it made such a difference!

There's only one to use. Go to Wacom dot com (not EU) and choose from the list appropriate to your operating system. All products are supported on all operating systems. Easy.

matodono1 Colour accuracy is always an issue, I didn't use the Cintiq for that. I have a main monitor that I trust to be close enough. the Cintiq was used for drawing and touching up images only. Regards, Matt.

Yeah the 620 is much more powerful than the 550, the Plettenberg and the Kontronic are an awesome combo and I also now run 120 dgree CCPM swash, a fully metal head with 2150 headspeed. go for it you won't be sorry. I've flown the Align heli's too, for me the 620 is hard to beat.

Hi. I have tried taking a vid of an rc heli and it came out worse. Certainly not the easiest of tasks to do well. . .anyhow, I clicked on your vid as I have a raptor e550 which is awesome. I am now up to mild 3d and I think ive reached the heli's limits pretty much. Do you know if the e620 is miles better or should I look at something else. I am a hard core TT fan and don't want an align really. If you have some advice, I would appreciate it. Cheers Steve

For sure. I didnt even try fly with the woodies. I went straight to align "D" cf blades. Im doing some mild 3d with it already. . .awesome. Maybe a x50 next. Cheers

Yeah you can see on the vid, standard black TT paddles, all that was trick was black carbon blades and some carbon tail blades. That video was even shot with the standard Spektrum DS821 servo's. The only limitation with a stock head is that you can't run more than 1850 rpm headspeed whereas with a metal head and red dampers you can run 2150 which is what I do with the E620. The extra headspeed, green paddles and red dampers = MENTAL! But still can do 3D with the stock heli, not as agressive...

Yeah no worries, that flight was using a Hacker xc70 ESC which has the strangest heli mode I have ever come across and I have flown most of what is out there. It took an age to wind up the full RPM. Your problem is not the ESC though, it is the original motor. Even with a Kontronic Jazz I could get no real power out of it. I don't rate the TT motors or the ESC's. The head is completely stock with stock dampers. It can do hard 3D as it is. Change the motor to a Plettenberg and watch it go!

Hi again. Well I have yest flown my e550 and its a very nice heli to fly. I think Im not getting full juice from my esc either. That could be because Ive been flying a trex 500 which probably is more poppy than the rappy 550.. Did you need to change the dampeners to do your aerobatics. I can sport fly and rather mild 3d and wondering if I need to change the dampeners to stiffer ones. Mine is a stock heli. I hope you dont mind me asking some advice. happy flying. Steve

Yeah thanks Steve, anyone with decent movement in hands can fly heli's. I build them, set them up and fly them. Sometimes I do need a bit of help at the field getting the larger ones on the flight line. Advice to your friend, plenty of hours on the simulator. I recommend Phoenix. Also make sure the heli is perfectly set up with tame settings to start with. If you need any help then shoot me a message any time. Also have a look at my other videos with the Raptor E620 they are more agressive. :o)

Very nice flying mate. You have been an inspiration to my friend who is wheelchair bound and flying helis with me. I shared this with him so he can see it can be done. I have just purchased a s/h e550. Same model as yours but I now see they have brought it out again in 2012 with carbon frame and blades. everything else is the same. TT were the first to bring out a 550 not align and not everyone wants a over pumped 3d machine like a trex but wants one that will do basic 3d and fly. Cheers Steve

I've watch a few of your vids, and you seem to zoom in way to much. Zoom out and just keep it out, then we can see what the pilot can.

@civicsam77 Thanks for your comment, noise is always going to be an issue which is why another soundtrack or ground mike would be usually overdubbed. As for the shake, that would not be handled by using a bigger heli. All helicopters move all of the time. There are other solutions for that which we are currently working on. This was a first attempt, I had never flown a camera on a helicopter before last month. Regards, Matt.

@leviterande. The Raptor E550 didn't sell well and has since been withdrawn. The t-rex 600 is a better helicopter in any case so you may as well get one. I also fly a Raptor 620 SE on 10 cell lipo. Which is mad. If I had a t-rex 600 I would want to go to at least 8 cell lipo. Thanks for your interest and have fun.

Yeah you are right, since then the motor got worse and was harder and harder to start. We stripped it down and found that the head was loose, we cleaned it the gasket and put it back together. On next day at the field I also test flew a friend's Raptor 90 SE OS91szh with muscle pipe. It was quieter, slower head and less frantic than mine. It also flew better holding altitude on agressive tick tocks. So I will have to tach my head and see where it's at. Thanks for your comments. keep in touch.

Hi kostas, the first flights were messed up by a glow plug that kept coming loose. This was changed and the problem has not repeated since. Then I lost my needle setting when the main needle ratchet was damaged, I started at one an a half turns out (too rich) and that was the last of my fuel that day (Model Technics 10%). I have since bought 15% fuel and will restart from about one and a quarter main needle and dial in from there. Once I have the motor set up with good power I will post a vid.

The glow plug worked loose, look closely and you can see smoke coming from under the canopy (during the short hover toward the end of the vid). It hasn't happened since. I have now set up the motor and the heli is running sweet as a nut.
