So the big Raptor has flown and been set up. Now time to have some fun with it. With so much power and a bit of weight behind it I felt comfortable with it straight off. So now time to try some loops and flips. Unfortunately the glow plug worked loose at the end of the flight which caused a sudden loss of power. This has happened to me loads of times with the electric helis and I have had to auto rotate out of trouble before. This heli is so big that it was easy to get it down in one peice with energy left in the blades to spare. I was just lucky that it cut out close to me and not while it was in a big loop or inverted.

Yeah you are right, since then the motor got worse and was harder and harder to start. We stripped it down and found that the head was loose, we cleaned it the gasket and put it back together. On next day at the field I also test flew a friend's Raptor 90 SE OS91szh with muscle pipe. It was quieter, slower head and less frantic than mine. It also flew better holding altitude on agressive tick tocks. So I will have to tach my head and see where it's at. Thanks for your comments. keep in touch.
Hi kostas, the first flights were messed up by a glow plug that kept coming loose. This was changed and the problem has not repeated since. Then I lost my needle setting when the main needle ratchet was damaged, I started at one an a half turns out (too rich) and that was the last of my fuel that day (Model Technics 10%). I have since bought 15% fuel and will restart from about one and a quarter main needle and dial in from there. Once I have the motor set up with good power I will post a vid.
The glow plug worked loose, look closely and you can see smoke coming from under the canopy (during the short hover toward the end of the vid). It hasn't happened since. I have now set up the motor and the heli is running sweet as a nut.
