Forgot, I say just do 1/2 ton axle in front with truss reinforcement and high strength axles when needed; do not need Dana 60 and truss; also need air spring bump stop; for back 4 bolt with Dana 60, lockers both ends but NOT air lockers! I realize my Blazer was almost perfectly balanced when I went off a cliff which is why I say no power steering, really! Defund Israeli mafia!

Tom I say do a 400 small block chevy with vortec heads, no electronic BS; 3 link front, 4 link back, keep 38s, do 4 speed standard trans, lowest ride height for safety, just simple bed roll bar; manual steering; keep it like a sports car! I hope you guys do not support Israeli mafia anymore? Hint! ;)

When I read Matt was cheating the IRS , car insurance fraud and a few other unpleasant things I quit watching. I suspect he was not a good employer and that's why the employees all left.

Great stuff Tom. Checkout KSR Fabrication to learn Kevin's trick about drilling a vent hole in the tube face at a welded tube joint. Give the hot expanded gasses someplace to escape, not bubbling back through the last of your weld. That would work in concert with vent holes in the foot plates at the base of your main hoop. 1/8" will do 'er.

I know very little about rollbars and connections to the body or frame. So that's my question; does the rollbar need to connect to the frame or is connection to the body shell sufficient?

Adding the plates to the bottom of the roll cage gives it a lot of additional strength. Is there a reason why you didn't go through the bottom of the cab and connect to the truck frame?

I like how you explqne everything. I love equipment more than fabrication so I tend to fixture everything as it's more fun. I know I would drive a fabricator wild with my progress but what is the point of building if you don't enjoy the process. I suggest you protect your glass from spatter it will fuse to the glass and for some reason the spatter damage creats stress rizers in the glass and over time it cracks.

Think I might have painted that rear hoop, everywhere except where it gets welded, before welding it in. (Also paint the holes in the roof, unless you have something else planned for them, and put an LED bulb in the dome light - looks like it would be real tough to change with the bar in thar.)

Please take the larger splice tube out, and put the spuds inside the cage tube and than do the same size over the spuds. Way stronger and looks better.

Dude, when I'm fabbing a cage, I buy a stick of FLEXIBLE exhaust pipe about the same size of the tube for mock-up and test fit. Bend it by hand for fit up, transfer to the tube. Any boo-boos can be straightened in a piece of angle and rubber mallet, in the vice.

I dig the full size Jeeps. Built a 77 Waggy and a 76 Chief back in the day when you could still find AMC parts at yards. My stuff was way more primitive than this wagon but still on tons and built to fit through the 6'9" door of my garage while on 38s and 40s respectively. That was almost 20 years ago and I wouldn't cut them up now Very cool
