Top notch drumming as always George. You are truly inspirational. I think if Buddy were asked about your playing I'd wager he'd use much more complimentary words. Like "that cat's got the big beat," or something else cool. Love everything you put on youtube, hope you continue - I know you have huge fans like me. Thanks again. --Joe

I’m sure it’s covered in one of your other videos but I’d love to see a lesson on some of the more complex parts. Like 8:15ish (can’t figure out what you’re doing with your left hand) and 9:45ish. I can play the basic engine but can’t get too complex with it.

ZZ Top’s first 2 albums and Fandango have my favorite tracks with those groovy bluesy songs And Billy Gibbons leads. And all three of those guys are great musicians. Billy Gibbons is incredible. A shame that a lot of their music is ignored and Eliminator gets a lot of focus in the mainstream. Incredible playing as always!

George, nice cover of an overlooked gem of a tune on an oft overlooked ZZ TOP album! When I listen to Frank Beard on this tune and others on the Tejas album, I think he especially had a great groove, lots of paradiddles mixed in between the hands and feet. Listen to ‘Ten Dollar Man’👍🏻👍🏻 With ‘It’s Only Love’, I swear I think I hear that he skips beats on the hi hat through parts of the verse and chorus, kind of like what Charlie Watts was known to do. Instead of a steady “1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and”, he accents on the “and” hits but skips on the “1,2,3,” then hits on “and a 4 and”. Pardon me if I sound drum notation illiterate. I’m way out of practice on reading drum music. I’m mostly self taught and play drums by ear.
