Horley Cricket Club is a family friendly club founded in 1792. We have 3 competitive Saturday league sides, a Development league side, a Friendly 'Strollers' Sunday side, competitive/non-competitive T20 sides, a ladies league and T20 side plus a girls section. We also have a thriving junior section for all ages looking to promote the juniors into senior cricket. We are always happy to welcome new members also!
Our Saturday 1st XI play in the Surrey Championship Div 5, our 2nd XI play in the Shepherd Neame 2nd XI Div 1 & our 3rd XI play in the Sussex County League Div 11 West. As a club our vision is to be playing good high standard cricket but to still enjoy our cricket as well. We hope to achieve playing in the top half of the Surrey Championship in the next 10 years as-well as bringing many of our juniors through the system to represent the club in our frontline teams.

Im sure you've had this question before, but what do you use for recording your games, the quality is incredible!
So many chuckers in English cricket wow
Strange that at the Hoval teams are getting out for 160, on a pitch where a length ball is very playable, but on this pitch both teams get 215 where a length ball is unplayable. Overall just didn't bowl to the normal high standard of length today. Gainos length bowling causing issues for Egham. Can't see any reason why Will just didn't bowl pace on a better pitch for him? Still got a niggle?
That was truly a very generous display of sportsmanship by the bowler on the last ball ! It was a really great example of "when should a batsman be "mankaded" (run out) when they are basically cribbing to get an unfair advantage. Was it necessary for the bowler to do it ? I will be interested to see the response.
I thought Sam Remfry was playing?? And Gaino was absolutely livid after that defeat.
Egham opening bowler 💪
well batted from them but its funny how contagious bad fielding is, everyone has off days but between both sides that is pure village fielding, but thats cricket, still top of the league
A weird game - bad fielding, dropped catches and great catches by both sides.
@@bobburroughs6241 If I was intent on being critical, the fielding wouldn’t be the first thing I would mention or attempt to fix but I get your point. I must say though, I think at this level, the fielding skills and drills probably aren’t at the top of or second place on the list of priorities.
Pretty average catching from both sides. Brilliant sportsmanship from Charlie.
Brilliant game of cricket. Fair result, but still top of the table
That openers action is suspect
@@samhunt5889 agree. Seemed to be chucking in the final movement🤔
How do teams like Horley go about signing/choosing an overseas player?
I think there is some kind of agency which has overseas players on its books. I guess clubs tell the agency what they need (fast bowler, spinner, opener, all rounder) and what they can offer. The player stipulates what kind of cricketing level, what part of the country...and the agency tries to bring player and club together. I could be well wide of the mark😏🏏
@@MikePaton-Williams-yv9qo No you’re pretty spot on unless a club develops specific relationships with clubs and players that they have had players from before. 30 years ago I turned up in England with 2 phone numbers of people I’d never spoken to directly but were aware that I would be in contact. In Australia my club had developed an association with Somerset and we had a couple of second XI and borderline first XI players join our club for a summer.
@@MikePaton-Williams-yv9qo Other than having established relationships with clubs and competitions overseas you’re spot on.
We were lucky enough that CP and Irfan are good friends and the introduction was made. A bit of good fortune, with both joining and being good blokes!
You see he scored 1000 runs 3 leagues higher than you a few years back and say, "yep, he's pretty decent", and ask if he wants to come down
Did you have an overseas at this time?
One of the spin bowlers should've been cautioned for chucking.
Irfan got skanked out of a 5fer, surely you bowl him through giving him a chance at back to back 5fers.
26:01 smashed it
L Cox carrying on like an absolute muppet with a send off to a bloke who he couldn’t dream of being as good as; also find it absolutely ridiculous that bowlers like Gorani are allowed to bowl when they clearly throw it. I have noticed it a lot in watching English club cricket, and have to say that as an Australian, it’s not something that I see in Aus at all. Appears to be unique to the UK
Hahah old mate doing push-ups ‘maybe he’s found a hole in the outfield’
I don't understand Regan's batting. He is a lovely player, stroking boundaries with great technique then when he gets to 50 he starts the 'club Sunday' stuff, playing farmer's weekly shots which then led to his demise. He should be building centuries. Maybe in his head he thinks he should be pushing the score along more but, as the opener he can be the mainstay of the innings, the guy who gets 110 - 120 not out. If he does that you'll always end up with a good total. If he fails, the other opener can do it instead of throwing his wicket away in the 40's. I played for 35 years as an opener so I do have some experience of this stuff. Never get to 50, think you've done okay and start yahooing unless the match situation really demands it. Once he got out it all unravelled pretty quickly here - totally unnecessary. A good win in the end but if you get promoted, these things will really matter.
I'm very injured at the moment and have been for a while, if I could physically bat for longer I would 😂
@@ReganWD96 Okay, that explains it! I do like watching you bat, you're a very good player. My criticisms are only made because I can see you are capable of more. Good luck for the rest of the season.
@@Wally-H much appreciated!
'Interesting' action at 8:15!
Why is it the garbage keepers are lippy, doesn’t make sense.
A bit of a testament for your team when you can have a solid win 1 week and change 5-6 players and back it up the following week with another solid win...big ups to Charlie for rocking the old school Newbery!
Another solid game showing your ability to defend a lower total. I'm just waiting for CP to hit big in those top table return fixtures :)
Well done. Enjoying the spin action :)
I have played and umpired for over 55 years….the bowler from the pavilion end was throwing. My second point is that the middle order need to use the overs and work the singles. Spinners do not mean easy balls to hit…..play all the overs that’s what they’re there for….
awesome guys keep going
charlie should open lol
hey. havent seen the result yet but trust you did the job.. i follow you . sanderstead and three bridges. any one else worth following ?
33:33 great win and finished in time for an ice cream
SOTD 26:45
Number 4 needs have a day off second bottom and they’re chirping the oppos pro… imagine 😂😂😂
Bats at 6 and doesn't bowl. Filling out the numbers so making up for it with average chat.
Haha calling a bloke a mug and telling him to focus on batting. Then you bat like that c’mon lads you can’t be serious. 🤣🤣🤣 Here’s a tip if you can’t bat or your only shot is a hack over the top keep your mouth shut as you’ll just look stupid like you did.
Old Pauline captain all the years on is still a twat and still chucks it!😂
Operation Chuck from that spinner at the pavilion end!
Great game, and an equally great game to win, with Alleyne losing. Well done lads
Imagine seeing 7 or 8 right handed batsman getting out to very average right arm off spin in the one innings.
Top stuff the 11 men! Keep it going!
Whys that Charlie batting at number 11? He looks like a player and surely deserves a promotion up the batting order after this innings!
Couldn’t agree any more. He is a proper batsman, really good on the short ball as well
At a certain level afaik level 3? and above neutral umpires are required.
Thanks for another entertaining highlights video. Horley still looking strong despite this week's team changes. I wonder if Effingham should have made a double change to their opening bowlers sooner to try to slow the Horley run chase?
Really good victory. A couple of lapses battingwise but the bowling was very good. Fabulous catch from Nathan at the death.moment of the match for mine. Next up Egham away whom we drew with at home.
Really enjoyed CP pretending to get the ball and then walking away at 11:46. Good for him after the needless chat he got when he was out.
Can I ask why you seem to have the same umpire most weeks? Do you have to supply your own? When I watch Sanderstead in the division above they seem to have 2 neutral umpires per game! Btw this is not a negative about your umpire just a genuine question.
Brilliant game of cricket again Andy. Not a bad total on that wicket, and Horleys bowlers must always be reckoned with. Irfan brilliant with the ball again, although everyone chipped in with economical bowling. The opening partnership with Ben and Regan was a good foundation also. Great filming and commentary as usual. Cheers Dave.
one critisism i have about the commentary is that while i know its horleys channel the commentary is a tad bias, for example; if they give a good celebration its a bit far and a bit over the top but if horely players do it its great excitement and passion, or if horley fight back for a draw its showing how good cricket can be but if the other team blocks out its a crap format and needs change. I know there's emotion but i think good appreciation for the other team rather than if its not horley its wrong would be nice to see. I love the videos so dont see this as hateful
Umpire in shorts, not having it..
That's a poor field, with an under 8s boundary on one side, and a bus trip on the other. Unlucky lads.
Crikey the old boy from Effingham seemed to be hooping it a mile.Well done lads another solid Win!
That lbw was so out! Hope he looks back at this video and writes a formal apology to the umpire. Great decision
I think CP offered up a snick.
