    That's crazy. I used to work at Clark Foam back in the early 2000's and we'd occasionally drop off blanks at T&C because a few of their shapers refused to shape with Buford blanks because they'd pressure dent super easy and didn't like that they used plywood stringers and now they're making super solid blanks. Glad to hear they stepped up their game. I was thinking of getting this in epoxy but now I'm not sure because I plan on using the board in head high+ waves and I prefer the feel of a PU in bigger waves.

    I find this board needs pretty groomed surf. Youre surfing pretty prime conditions here. My experience has been the domintaor is so stiff its a tough board to surf when conditions have wobble shitty winds or some lump to contend with. My normal pu boards in similiar dims help correct my mistakes then.

    Another skimboard with fins. Having some length in your boards is a good thing.

  • @larrydowling5213
    @larrydowling52133 күн бұрын

    You know, I think you guys do a huge disservice to surfing by playing this volume game. These shorter boards are not for your average surfer, no matter their skill level. Just Slater in the 90s, we were all riding boards to narrow. These short boards look like skimboards with fins. When you don't have balance and some length, it changes the planing area. Kinda like a bass boat and how in plane it only uses about a foot of the boat contacting the water vs a cigarette boat that has more planing area. Length gives you more flow, more control on bottom turns. I ride 7ft boards and I found they ride and perform as good as these shorties Bec of the tail. Wide tail, stiffer board, pin tail looser. These stubbies short boards need a lot of speed which is not always easy to use obtain. This board seems to fit Sal well, he isn't checking up his bottom turns. Find what fits you and your style. Don't buy a board Bec of what someone's else is riding.

    Instead of having the fins further back so it’s like a thruster but a twin…MAKE A TWINZER fin. I don’t know why any well known shapers/companies don’t make a twinzer fin board. They go so good and the sweet spot is bigger, best of both a twin and a thruster..is a twinzer

    Greetings from north coast New South Wales. I’m looking for a HPSB/Daily driver to replace my D2. Current quiver is 5’8 RNF96 as a twinny for small days, and a 6’2 custom round tail PU shortboard for good days. I’m 6’2 and surf my local beach break mostly. I’m looking for great pocket performance - tight turning, fast and vertical. Considering I72, Twin turbo, Xero gravity, Holy hypto, and maybe the lost ripper but there’s the HE, HK2 and many others! What would be your recommendation? Cheers and thanks for your epic reviews!

    I like so many boards you are considering. The bottom line is choosing the right board with the right rocker for your waves. If your home break waves are fast and hollow when they are overhead then you might want a board with a little more rocker CI Pro 2. If your home breaks have flatter faced waves with some push then I recommend the Happy Everyday or I72. Both of these boards draw high performance lines and easy to shred compared to a typical HPSB.
