I saw them as a kid at a Bluegrass festival, they were very entertaining, not just the music but their humor as well.

They come direct from fishing and that's why no shoes or socks, because they was a-dipping an' a-soaking bare feet in the river. In case you was a-wonderin'.

I got to be their driver for a gig they had in my hometown. They were in really no nonsense business mode in the car, one worried I'd make a wrong turn in my OWN town , population 3000. On stage, they were hilarious.

I could be wrong but I believe Doug is the only one of the original Dillards that is still alive. I also believe that Maggie Peterson (Charlene Darling) also has passed on.

Is that JVD? Funny bit with the bare feet. But just a quick note to the director, those acts went way too long. Cut them back by about a half. Too late now, but you would have said thanks and you would have been welcome.
