Welcome to Micah Surf Vids! My name is Micah. I'm a aspiring Surf videographer who surfs daily. Showing you the waves and surfers of Oahu, Hawaii. North Shore and South Shore!
The whole summer of 1994 was epic at sandy's! 2-4 feet super glassy every week

My 3 brothers and I visited this beach back in the 1970's on a visit from Minnesota. Every wave crushed us - pummeled us into the sand. We were all to young to realize how dangerous it was. After a few hours, we collapsed on the beach exhausted. Love that memory, love that beach and love Oahu.

I've seen days when it was big and glassy, current not so bad, fun to surf. This video was kind of a ruff day for surfing. But the locals know the spot really well and make safer decisions than your average swimmers.

I've body surfed here with family/locals. They made me sit and watch for a good 45 minutes before even attempting to get in the water. Let's just say I'm glad they did because this place can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. I learned a lot of HARD lessons at Sandy's lol

Gret day at Sandy Beach! I grew up on nearby Portlock Road and surfed Sandy for many years. But Sandy is rarely this big. I'm now 85 and living in central Oregon now, but I sure enjoyed Sandy especially on those days the surf was this high.

This brings back both good and bad memories...I got "pantsed" by one of those gnarly waves, luckily I still had boxers on underneath. I had to go to the closest surf shop with a towel wrapped around my waist to get new board shorts. I never could make it past that first set of waves, and took it as a sign to stop trying after the beach consumed my shorts and spit me out.

Nope. I was here Feb 2nd-14th - month and a half ago. This beach is super sketchy. I could tell the only ones playing in the shore break were local to the island. In person its even more intimidating. This video surely doesn't do it justice.

@@JaFeelMeBro They finally put signs up and there's life guards on duty as well but when the conditions are right NO one should get into that water. I have seen it pull people that were standing up on the higher part of the beach and when the wave break washed up around their ankles it would actually pull them into the water as it retreated back . But it's some of the best body surfing/ surfing in the world !

I lived there in1975, was on this beach two or three times a week. That place can be brutal. Don’t go in here unless you are in really good shape, have great swimming skills and can hold your breath for a long time. Shore breakers, they will spit you off the top of the wave if you are unlucky you will land head first and break you neck, then you can’t swim and you drown. Lots of people injured and killed on this beach.
