Welcome! Gold City Trucks is a small restoration shop in the PNW that specializes in ‘67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks! Between customer projects, derelicts I bring home, and the junkers already apart of my fleet, there’s always something ‘67-72 related going on! Also the home of #SPIDepisodes , where we take a look a look at factory options, some great and unique, and just talk all things about this generation of truck!

Neat old truck. Found an old gasoline that looks similar but has a flat bed that’s being used to haul water tanks. Considering it myself. Trying to decide if it’s worth the risk of having to have the 327 built
Dude I'd have it just to sit in it and get right listen to music with my homie
same engines were used in these: kzread.info/dash/bejne/kZV1xrlwkqjVk6Q.htmlfeature=shared
Man I’d love to work in a shop like this
Short beds are useless
Boy did I love this one.. I have a 75' GMC Dually that I found in San Diego it has the long frame on it and a 12' Fruehauf box on it, at first the hardware looked like 50's or 60's but it turned out to be an 86'. it's well insulated and in decent shape but I thought I'd find a LCF truck to put it on 4500 or 5500 would work, that tall box just looks out of place with that regular truck cab.. maybe a COE of some sort would work. In my retirement years I wanted to do what you are doing, I used to work in body shops all over for years but loved trucks, especially 67' -72' but I'd want to make the interior more updated to today's standards but no air conditioned seats or worthless crap like lane departure warnings and stuff
is it drum breaks all around?
awesome , oh what ? it is even a 4 wheel drive truck!!
You must be a little OCD like myself. That K20 is looking Mighty Fine. Are you looking for work? Gerry
Sure enjoy your videos thanks for taking the time to film your adventures in working on these 67-72s.
That's a cool suburban. The amount of lift and wheels you put on your trucks just is the perfect look.👊
Nice Truck. I'm a old school guy with small blocks and og wheels. But I can appreciate that you guys rescued this Truck
Brother how do I get in touch with you about a restoration?
15095603970 I specialize and work on just 67-72 chevy and gmc trucks
Nice pick up
Can I buy some of those STOWAGE DOOR PARTS OFF OF YOU. I HAVE A 71 CST , I JUST BOUGHT
Love this channel 🙌 man I wish I could do something like this for a living. I’ve got decent experience with old chevys. Quite a few successful engine swaps under my belt and I went to school for autobody and Im a decent welder. Just seems like no one wants to hire a 19 year old to work on old cars around here unfortunately🥲
Did you guys just move the factory battery tray to the driver side? Or did you get a different style to fit?
I'm excited to see where this build goes. I have a 71 c20 down here in Cali and interested to see the lowering options. Also good to learn that the giant groove in my rotors mean my truck might really only have 43k miles
I thought that the old wheels looked like 19.5 wheels not 22.5 wheels .
I have all of the shop Manuals for the Toro Flow Diesels as My Father had a C-70 with the V-6 gas Version of the same engine.
Not sure what’s wrong with some of these commenters, this thing is sick!
Everyone is a critic! And a expert too 😂
Wow!! Tons of Traffic on the roads up there. Ha Ha. AH, The freedom of the PNW. Awesome. And the truck blends right in!!
Sorry but lowering that truck ruins it might as well pick up snoop dog and get some jin and juice lol
That’s what we plan on doing
Laid-back...
I like the ls motors but this truck needs a badass 454 with a throtle body set up
You guys are great! 😂 excited to see how it turns out!
Those rims look terrible
What about the rest of the wheel?
I always thought that on 1967 to 72 Chevy & GMC medium duty trucks with the hood vents but without the engine call out, meant it was a big block 366. Because trucks with 6 cylinder or small block V8 didn't have the hood vents. Trucks optioned with the 427 had hood vents & the engine call out that says 427. But I guess this rule only applied on the gasoline engine trucks, not diesels.
That color 🤌, question for the smarter then me guys, i got a 72 k10 auto, the trans seems to shift fine fuild down smell to bad but when i drive it i can smell burning rubber/clutches or something. Can never see visible smoke tho. Im a 4 spd guy so autos are voodoo to me, any help appreciated.
Check for leaks! Some sort of oil or fluid could be leaking on exhaust creating the burning smell
@@GoldCityTrucks will be brake cleaning the whole bottom of the truck tomorrow haha. She's a little oily everywhere right now I just had the bolt above my fuel pump vibrate out while down the highway made a freakin mess. Hopefully after that I can find the source. Thanks for the reply 👍.
You probably have a bit of a leak in the seal between the tranny and the 205 t-case. The fluid lays on the exhaust when parked then you start driving and walla!!!! smoke, smell, drip on shop floor etc. And about your " auto's are voodoo " comment. I'll tell ya one thing they might be "voodoo " to some people but when you go to sell that rig you will reap the REWARD !!!!! I have been building, body-off-frame and on-frame restoring and flipping these '67-'72 Chevy/GMC 4x4's since 1982. My shop did just under 400 mostly K20's . We are in the Midwest and we like to drive them in EVERYTHING . Mud, snow, rain, truck pulls, mud bogs, you name it My shop turned over at least 15 trucks a year. I am not exaggerating a bit to say I know that we pulled for sure 5K-8K more from an automatic than a 4-speed. Wives, daughters, younger gen's don't want to take their first spin to get their license jerk'in around in a 50 year old rig. You would feel differently if you rode in my '71 Chevy 3/4 ton auto. (350 turbo) 4x4. It has B&M everything, it will give you a two foot scratch in 2nd gear and darn near one in drive!!!!!
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ I absolutely love the work you guys do, that truck is a beauty. ✌️🇺🇲
Monty's Truck looks great guys. Nice work. My Dads c20 camper special is that Green color.
That paint looks sweet i could only dream of owning a jewel like that lol
Is the bed a dynacorn? I think I remember seeing something about it being dynacorn.
Yes dynacorn metal
@@GoldCityTrucks I need a bed for the 72 im building. I bought dynacorn metal. I'm not to that point yet. But glad to see someone having good success with it
Where do guys get good window and door regulators?
Wheel and lift complement each other. I may do the same.
That is my dream truck ❤. Awesome job fellas 😊
What size lift, wheels and tires? I think in the last video you said you did Alcan springs?
2 inch Ord/Alcan 33 x 12.50 r 17
@@GoldCityTrucks if it’s not too much to ask can you give me a measurement from the ground to the fender lip? I just installed 2” lift springs from Alcan and got 1-1/4” of lift and my truck still leans 1” to the drivers side. I’m super bummed.
Beautiful truck
So extremely beautiful. Great job. I love that truck
I love the wheels no brodozer 30 inch offset by 26 just a old school wheel I love it
Wow, seeing I live in the rust belt north west ohio, that truck is beautiful, I miss my 1968 heavy half
Awesome job guys. Now if only mine looked like that 😁
Just found your channel. I'm looking forward to the rest of this build

You might wanna check market place in Kingman AZ...there's a guy selling rustfree truck parts
Cool Truck. But when you going to make a Battery cover for it.
