This video is so interesting, and honestly, I'll probably need some of the knowledge shared here soon, as I have a game jam scheduled... Btw, are you using a godot gridmap for this 3d level arena? I mean, maybe you already showed how you made these levels and I just forgot, but it's because I'm currently doing a game dev course where we use the grid map to design 3d levels, and I'm not sure if I would be able to acheive a similar looking voxel level with it... (not that I'm required to do so, but I'm just curious.)

@@workinprogress6504 Yes, but I've seen people younger than me who seem to have a much greater aptitude and/or attention span for game dev. I have games in my imagination I want to play, but I don't have the skills or time to make them. I have no problem with regular computer programming, I've written 1000 lines of C++ or Python in a day many times, but applying that experience to Godot feels insurmountable. The way game engines and Godot use scenes, scripts, nodes, singletons, etc. It's so frustrating and obtuse to me. It feels like everything has unnecessary layers of complexity. I've even downloaded example projects and tried to modify them and still break them in five minutes. It makes me feel so dumb lmao, way harder than anything I do in my professional life
