    When did you use the second loop that was formed? You said tag end will pass through both loops…but you passed through the first loop…then tightened it down. Never passed through second loop?

    Ive NEVER had an issue with an ordinary old school fishing knot

  • @BushcraftingBogan
    @BushcraftingBogan10 сағат бұрын

    Exactly. I've never had a knot fail. Some knots work better for certain rigs and applications. If a knot actually fails then it is user error. My line snaps usually happen because I failed to re-tie after catching lots of fish on one tie, I failed to re-tie after obstacle damage, or just failure to inspect my line.

    Newb question, so don’t attack me people! Can knots like this be wound up into the reel or are they supposed to remain hanging when casting? How much leader do you recommend when adding to braid?

  • @FTWQ
    @FTWQ22 күн бұрын

    On average I will use a 3-4 ft leader. I tend to not have the knot wind into my reel. This knot is okay to go through you line guides though.

    Very clean and right to the point. Thanks for the video. Others out there talk about random stuff for 20 mins before getting to the knot. Great video keep it up. Only suggestion is maybe use 2 different colored cords instead of using real mono. We can see it better. Other than that great job.

    Palomar and Snell are the 2 best knots in my opinion. Cool thing about the Snell is the "popping" "snapping" action for getting it set quickly, in fish that are tricky to snag.
