Just exhilerating and mind-blowing to watch! Mustaine describes the moment, in his book, "Mustaine", when he realizes that Friedman is a better guitarist than he.

Years ago some friends of mine used to tell me that they have no idea how I could play guitar with my left hand position so awkward on the fretboard...then I look at Martys right hand picking positions throughout his career and wonder the same thing ?

The dumbest move he made was going "solo" and make a few horrible guitar solo albums. He was doing GREAT in Megadeth. But then he got smug. Should never have left.

No feel. His tone sucks and there's no melody behind what he plays Just because he has skills which are above average, doesn't make it sound any less noodly and generally void of context that is to say tension and release.I.E It all sounds the same Satch,Vai,Hammett and however many other shredder greats [Both famous or not] didn't loose a wink of sleep over his talent

It's hard to watch these clips and not want to listen to the songs in their entirety and that's a real credit to Marty Friedman because it makes clear the fact that he didn't just throw a bunch of notes into an area of a song but instead he actually sat down and figured out, "What sounds good here?"

@@jasonwilliams7454 same mate I’m a fuckin pro musician Lmao- revert your ageing mind back to the 90s that you profess to be so in tune with , guitar school , guitar techniques magazines - top guitarists polls where were vai and malmsteen ? Where were poor guitarists like Hammett? Number 1 ( albeit a popularity contest ) now where were mustaine and Friedman ? Top two / three - that doesn’t show an underrated notion does it ! Again they are all only given credence in guitar players circles and Friedman was definitely not underrated on any metric ! I can keep this hook out little fish :)

Bro I hate to be that guy...but video editor...if you're going to post up a Marty Friedman solo tribute video...stop cutting away in the middle of his solos...which are being showcased which is literally the point. I mean yeah I love Megadeth and Nick Menza and Dave Mustaine but still
