I had a group of friends around this time who considered themselves 'music afficianados' who absolutely hated Rockpile. They couldn't understand why I liked the band, since my tastes pretty much mirrored theirs. I liked this band because of the talent in it, and how fun their music was. I feel that the attitude of my friends was basically the attitude of American rock critics which is why Rockpile didn't make it as big as they rightfully should have.

The TOTP lip-sync to the original recording. Dave did a great live version with Jools Holland's big band much later in 1988 giving the song a whole different interpretation that really rocks.
